Mijin Chuksan Sinchon-jeom

미진축산 신촌점 Chuksan means livestock products, the word Korean butcher-run meat restaurants put on their signs; Sinchon-jeom is the Sinchon branch.

Compiled from 24 blog posts read in fullSources →

A pork barbecue house that takes up a whole building, basement through second floor, on the eating alley of Yonsei-ro 7an-gil between Sinchon Station and Yonsei University. Meat is priced per 100g: October 2026 receipts show pork belly at 4,900 won per 100g, up from 4,400 won in posts from July 2025 to February 2026. The first order must be at least 500g, a 3,000-won setting charge is added, and side dishes and cheese come from a self-serve bar. Several posts mention a separate stew burner next to the charcoal grill. We read 29 posts dated February 8, 2025 to October 16, 2026: 26 describe a visit, one is a single line in a Sinchon list, and two turned out to be about neighboring restaurants.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Ordering has rules, and nine posts spelled them out: seven mention the 500g minimum for the first order, six say each cut must be ordered in 200g steps. Two posts expected to order small amounts because prices are listed per 100g, and one said the deal is weaker if only two people want a light meal.
  2. Fourteen posts say side dishes are refilled from a self-serve bar. Nine of them single out the cheese: it melts in a foil cup beside the grill for dipping, and diners went back for it again and again. The starting spread is sparse; one post got exactly two cloves of garlic, and one missed plain kimchi at the bar.
  3. Twelve posts called it cheap; one said it is awkward for two people who want a small meal. Recorded bills: 43,000 won for two with the couple set, stew and rice (July 2026); 62,000 won for four (June 2026); 81,000 won for nearly 1kg of meat with drinks (January 2026); and 117,200 won for 1kg of belly, 300g of blade, sides and drinks (October 2026).
  4. Seven posts describe the meat as thick-cut. One office-dinner post said the slabs were hard to cut with scissors until fully cooked, though the strong charcoal heat cooked them quickly.

  1. Four posts say you order from a tablet or touchscreen at the table.
  2. Two posts noticed many foreign customers, but both describe the same office dinner on November 13, 2025.

Getting inside

Second floor9 of 24 posts
In a basement8 of 24 posts
Toilet inside1 of 24 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 24 posts

It uses the basement, ground floor and second floor, and nine posts describe the layout firsthand. A May 2025 post and an October 2026 post give the same seat counts: 32 on the ground floor, 40 upstairs, 28 in the basement. Two posts were seated upstairs by staff, one ate in the basement, two sat on the ground floor, and one guessed you have to come early to get a ground-floor table.

We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance, or whether the floors are linked only by stairs or also by an elevator. The restaurant spans three floors, but no post mentions it. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is no access.

Only one post describes the restrooms: women's on the ground floor, men's on the second. Another post's 'separate men's and women's restrooms' line was copied from a listing.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices went up. Posts from July 2025 to February 2026 show pork belly at 4,400 won per 100g; October 2026 receipts show 4,900 won. Pork blade went from 5,900 won on the November 2025 menu to 6,400 won in October 2026. We can't pin down when, because the posts in between don't give per-100g prices.
  • No post describes waiting in line. Two evening visitors got the last free table, one upstairs and one on the ground floor, while one post found it nearly empty on a Thursday evening during the university break.
  • Ten posts give the same opening hours, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., but nine copied them from a listing. One post read them off the door notice and added a 1 a.m. last order. No post mentions a closing day.
  • The phone number 02-336-9818 appears in more than ten posts, always copied from a listing. No post says they booked by phone; 'reservations accepted' only shows up in copied info blocks.
  • It's unclear whether the 3,000-won setting charge is per table or per person. Two posts say per table, while two posts showing the same October 2026 receipt have it charged twice.
  • Three posts from October 14 to 16, 2026 describe the same order in the same format, and two of them show the same 117,200-won receipt. Two November 2025 posts likewise cover a single office dinner. Read each group as one meal, not several.
