Yeoljeong Kkochi
열정꼬치 Yeoljeong means passion and kkochi means skewers, so the name reads as 'passion skewers'.

Yeoljeong Kkochi is a charcoal-skewer izakaya in the Bukchang-dong food alley near City Hall Station exits 7 and 8. It opens at 5 p.m. and runs to 2 a.m. People order skewer sets (seven skewers for 27,000 won, the two-person Kansai set for 42,000) or single skewers (3,500 to 6,000 won), add oden hotpot (22,000) or basil-wasabi cured mackerel (19,000), and drink draft beer or sours. We read 30 posts from 17 August to 13 October 2026. Twenty-eight describe a visit. We set aside one post about a different restaurant and one multi-stop itinerary.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- A free starter arrives once you sit down. Twenty-two posts mention it, and it is nearly always the same pair: a dish of beans or edamame and yuzu-scented pickled radish. Several posts also note shichimi, yuzu salt and pepper on every table.
- Skewers are grilled over charcoal behind the counter seats at the back, and ten posts say they watched it happen. Two posts note there is no grill at the table, as everything comes out cooked, and say the room was smoke-free as a result.
- Thirteen posts describe tables alongside counter seats, and none says the room is counter-only. Eleven call it spacious. One says it is not especially large but seats more than ten tables, and another found the tables close together and the room a bit noisy.
- Five posts say you order from a kiosk at the table.
1 more
- Eleven posts put it about three minutes' walk from City Hall Station, with one giving the route as the lane by the Twosome Place near exit 7. One writer walked over from Hoehyeon Station exit 5.

Parking
4 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Four posts state there is no parking, and none says otherwise. One names a paid lot two minutes away at 2,500 won for the first 30 minutes and 5,000 won an hour. Other posts that say 'no parking' copied it from the listing, so we did not count them.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 2 (of 27 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 5 of 27 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 2 of 27 posts |
Two posts say first-hand that the restaurant is on the ground floor. Apart from the '1st floor' in the address, no other post mentions floors.
We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That doesn't mean there isn't one; nobody wrote about it.
Five posts say the toilet is inside the restaurant, and two of them say it is separated by gender. One gave the toilet five stars and called it spotless.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post gives a waiting time in a queue. One saw people standing outside at opening who went in first, another waited for the 5 p.m. weekend opening, and two booked through Naver. Several posts mention it being nearly full even on weekday evenings.
- Two posts say the skewers take a while because they are grilled to order, and a third only says they may be a little slow. No one gave a time.
- Posts disagree about the heat. Two found the oden hotpot spicy. Two said their hotpot wasn't hot: one oden and one 'spicy' motsunabe. One called it only faintly spicy. Oden comes mild or spicy, and motsunabe spicy or plain, so it probably depends on which version was ordered.
- Three posts called it cheap or good value, and one found it somewhat pricey with small portions for the money. No post gave a total bill.
- The weekday happy hour gives either two Kirin draft beers or ten fried wings free. Most posts say it applies to arrivals between 5 and 7 p.m. on weekdays, but one says before 6 p.m. One weekend visitor didn't get it, while another got it on the public holiday before Chuseok, so holidays are unclear.
- Twenty-one posts give the same opening hours: daily from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., last order 1:30 a.m. Most of them copied this from the Naver listing. Two posts guessed from the menu that there might be lunch service, but nobody went at lunchtime.
- Many posts list the phone number as 0507-1466-4624. Two posts say they booked through Naver Booking.
- Visitors came in many combinations: five with friends, three with a partner or spouse, two with family (one of them with children), three in groups, and one alone.
- Many posts share the same phrasing ('every skewer handmade daily', 'three minutes from exit 8') and the same set of hashtags, which suggests commissioned content. Only two disclose sponsorship, and two say they paid their own way. We treated 'handmade daily' and 'grilled to order over charcoal' as the restaurant's own claims and did not count them as evidence.
