TACHIBANA

타치바나 Tachibana Tachibana (橘) is the Japanese name for a wild citrus tree; one post notes the character 橘 is printed large on the menu.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

Tachibana is a ramen counter in House of Shinsegae, the food hall on the B1 level of Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam in Banpo, Seoul. Its signature is a vongole shoyu ramen with a clam-and-kelp broth (14,000 won), eaten in 18 of the 25 visit posts. Ramen and soba run 13,000–15,000 won; fried dishes like chicken nanban and karaage, plus oden, are sold only after 17:00. Twelve posts say rice is free on request. We read 30 posts dated 9 September to 25 October 2026 and set aside 5 that were about neighbouring shops.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect to queue. Of 23 posts that mention waiting, 19 waited: 10 minutes behind 3 groups at 11:20 on a weekday, 15–20 minutes behind 19 groups at 13:00, 30 minutes behind 23 groups at 11:50, 30 minutes behind 30 groups on a holiday evening, 40 minutes behind 32 groups on a Saturday, under 50 minutes behind 17 groups on a Saturday evening, and an hour in three posts. One holiday-evening diner was number 57. Two walked straight in — a Friday at 11:00 and one visit in September. Posts repeatedly advise joining the remote waitlist on CatchTable and shopping in the meantime.
  2. Most seats are along an L-shaped counter facing the kitchen, and posts note plenty of solo diners. Eleven posts say there are also a few tables at the back — two or three, depending on who counted. One post said it was counter seating only. Two said the space is tight.
  3. Eight posts found the karakuchi and yatai bowls spicy. The menu likens it to Shin Ramyun; two posts said it was hotter than that, and one spice-shy writer said it wasn't very hot.
  4. Six posts are return visits, including one writer on a third visit who ordered the vongole shoyu every time. One post said it was not worth the wait and they would not return.
3 more
  1. Two posts noticed high chairs for small children.
  2. Three posts photographed the posted country-of-origin board. Two relay the menu's claim that the clams come from Garorim Bay and the kelp from Wando — the shop's own wording.
  3. Four posts note the underground link from Express Bus Terminal station, and several give the same directions: from Sweet Park on B1, turn in beside I'm Donut. Five posts mention from experience that it is on the basement level.

Parking

2 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park2 of 25 posts

Two posts say you use the department store's car park. One found it expensive at 1,500 won per 15 minutes and parked at the nearby Banpo 2-dong public lot instead. The free-hours-by-purchase rules are copied from listings.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

4 posts say it is walkable from the station.

Getting inside

In a basement5 of 25 posts

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller fits. It sits inside a department-store food hall, but nobody wrote about it.

No post describes the toilets from experience. Three posts' info boxes say 'department store toilets' or 'separate men's and women's', but these are copied listings and we did not count them.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Opinions split on seasoning: three posts found it salty (one said it got saltier as the broth cooled), one said it wasn't. Richness splits three to three — the brothless soba can turn greasy, while the vongole broth was called clean.
  • Of 19 posts that say who they came with, 10 came as a couple, 4 with friends, 3 with family and 2 alone.
  • Opening hours appear in 17 posts, nearly all as 10:30–22:00 daily with last orders at 21:00, but every one is a copied info box. One post lists 11:00–21:00, and one September post lists a 15:00–16:30 break that no other post mentions. One post says it closes only when the department store does.
  • Prices come from menus transcribed in September–October 2026. Two posts called 14,000 won reasonable for Seoul; none called it expensive.
  • Four posts give the phone number 0507-1344-0623; one gives 02-3479-1934, copied from Shinsegae's listing. A few posts say 'CatchTable reservation', but they describe the remote waitlist; nobody says whether you can book a table in advance.
