Beanstella Bistro
빈스텔라 비스트로 Binseutella Biseuteuro Italian bistro over the Geum river in Sejong: pastry-base pizza, mushroom cream pasta, rooms for a table that shuts
Compiled from 15 blog posts read in fullSources →
Beanstella Bistro is an Italian restaurant on a rise above the Geum river in Yeondong-myeon, Sejong. Two buildings share the site: the large one on the left is the Beanstella bakery café, and meals are in the lower building on the right — they keep different hours (the café 10:30–19:30, the bistro 11:00–21:00). Pasta, risotto, pizza and steak; à la carte runs ₩20,000–42,000, and a two-person Bean set is ₩55,000. Seven of the eleven who ate the pizza lead with the same thing: the base is pastry, not pizza dough. Eleven to nine daily, last orders at eight, with a break in between. Two writers record that it never closes. We read 15 posts, from October 2024 to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart
- You can see the Geum river from the table. Eleven of the fifteen write about the glass and the water. Two say the view opens up from the car park onward with nothing in the way; one notes the ground sits above the river, so you look down on it. On the wrong day it is nothing — one writer got a downpour and a grey sky, another found the sun already gone before six on a winter evening. Two advise coming in daylight.
- There is somewhere to sit that shuts. Nine writers describe it, and no two quite the same: a six-seat glass-partitioned bay (March 2025), a transparent room holding about fifteen (December 2024), two rooms thrown into one (June 2025), an eight-seat table (August 2026). One post records that the place takes bookings for parties of twelve and up — seminars, workshops, first birthdays, sixtieths. One writer doubts you would get it without booking; another said there were four of them and was moved to the roomier tables at the back.
- Cream is the centre of this kitchen, and five writers go out of their way to say it does not cloy. Five people had a free choice of pasta in the set and all five took the porcini cream; counting the risotto, eight of the fifteen ate that same mushroom cream. Four call it thick and the same four say it stays the right side of heavy — two credit the rocket over the top. The other end exists too: three find a late heat in the seafood oil pasta that keeps it clean, and the one person who ordered the amatriciana rates it hotter than buldak.
- Eat here and you leave with a discount voucher for the café next door. Four writers received one, in posts running from December 2024 to August 2026; the single post that names a figure says 20%. Two treat it as the natural next step — meal here, coffee there. One December 2024 post also records one-plus-one on house wine and 30% off the chuck-flap steak for tables booked between five and seven — but that is one post, and we do not know whether either still runs.

Parking
11 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Eleven of the fifteen arrived by car and parked — not a copied "parking available" line but eleven people who actually did it. Nine call the lot in front of the building ample; four say they never worried. It does fill, though: one found it nearly full at Friday lunch, one says weekend peaks sometimes leave nothing, and one writer was once turned away on a weekend because there was no space at all. One mentions being waved into a spot by staff.

Where it is

Getting inside
| Ramp at the door | 1 of 15 posts |
|---|
The dining room is on the ground floor. The registered address reads "155 Taesan-ro, annex 1, 1F", and one writer spells the site out: lounge and café in the left building, the restaurant in the right, the café's terrace on its roof. Nobody describes climbing stairs inside the bistro. The café next door runs to a second and third floor with a no-children rule upstairs — a different business, so none of that is counted here. Three posts mention a rooftop or outdoor tables, but we could not tell from the writing whose they are, so we left them out.
No post says whether you can get in with a wheelchair or a pushchair. Across fifteen there is no mention of a threshold, a step or a doorway. One line comes close: a July 2026 writer, photographing the entrance, notes in passing that there was a ramp. She does not say whether there are also steps, or how wide anything is. One post lists an accessible parking bay, but that line is copied wholesale from the Naver facility list, so we did not count it. This is neither a yes nor a no — nobody looked.
Nobody writes about using the toilet. Three posts carry a line about separate men's and women's toilets, or a toilet inside — but all three sit inside the same copied Naver facility list (high chairs, groups welcome, booking, takeaway, wi-fi, separate toilets, accessible bay), and none of those writers says they saw one. Where it is, how many, inside or out: we do not know. A line in a post is not the same as a person having looked.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 16 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Not one writer arrived by public transport. Across all fifteen there is no bus number, no stop, no walk from a station — eleven came by car. Instead: three say twenty minutes or so from Sejong, Daejeon or Cheongju, one says fifteen from central Sejong, and one writes that it is genuinely far, over hills and across water, and best treated as a drive you set out to make. One post's title calls it a Bugang-station restaurant, but its text is a car journey. Whether you can get here without one, we do not know.
- Nobody queued. One writer walked in without a wait and adds in the same breath that the room filled up while she was eating. Five had booked; one turned up without and still got a window table. The cars tell a different story: one writer was once unable to get in at all on a weekend because the lot was full, which suggests the pinch comes at the parking before it comes at the table. Four say the food arrived quickly; none says it was slow.
- Not one of the fifteen declares a sponsorship. Two things are worth setting down instead. One writer says plainly that somebody else paid — and gives no prices at all. Another received the ₩16,000 seasonal salad free for writing a receipt review. One volunteers that she paid her own way; the remaining twelve say nothing. No blog appears twice, so fifteen posts are fifteen people.
- The line about a Michelin chef appears in exactly one post, and even there as hearsay — "they say a Michelin chef runs it, which would explain the food" (July 2026). None of the other fourteen mentions any chef's background. We could not confirm it and have not recorded it as fact. There is a voice the other way too: an October 2024 writer says the food was good but no better than a decent neighbourhood Italian, and that what makes it worth the trip is the room — while agreeing the prices are fair.
- The afternoon break seems to have moved. Four posts between December 2024 and July 2026 give it as 16:00–17:00 with no distinction; three posts from August and September 2026 split it into 15:00–17:00 on weekdays and 16:00–17:00 at weekends and on holidays. It reads as an hour earlier on weekdays, but we could not confirm it — if you are aiming for a late lunch, phone. Opening at eleven, closing at nine and last orders at eight are the same in all twelve posts that mention them. Two writers say the place never closes; the other thirteen say nothing about it.
