Sunine Bapsang

순이네밥상 Sunine bapsang reads as 'Suni's family table' — Suni is a woman's given name, -ne means her household, and bapsang is a table set with rice and side dishes.

Compiled from 22 blog posts read in fullSources →

Sunine Bapsang is a crab set-meal house in an alley off Yi Sun-sin Square in Yeosu's Jungang-dong (Tongjeyeong 5-gil 5). Every set comes with soy and spicy marinated stone crab, stir-fried pork and more than ten side dishes, plus braised hairtail or blue-crab stew depending on the set. The hairtail and crab-stew sets are 15,000 won per person and the stone-crab set is 13,000 won. Six posts say every set has a two-person minimum. We read 30 posts dated 5 August to 21 October 2026. We set aside 5 that were about other places and did not count 3 that only listed the name, which leaves 22 first-hand meals. Of those 22, 15 ordered the hairtail set and 10 the crab-stew set.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect to wait. Sixteen posts say they waited, and the times they give are 10, 20, 20, 30, 30, 30–40 and 40 minutes, then 90 minutes, an hour and a half, and 'a little over two hours'. You take a number from a machine by the door. One writer drew number 207 around noon with 70 parties ahead. Another arrived at 10:54 on a Saturday with 50 parties ahead. Someone who came at 9:00, before opening, got number 1, but another who arrived at 9:33 still waited half an hour. One writer gave up at lunch on the first day and came back the next.
  2. Five posts mention waiting seats out front — one writer says there were enough chairs to sit while waiting. Numbers are called out, so you need to stay near the door. Groups of five or more are told to take two tickets.
  3. The crab is refilled. Twelve posts mention refills, and seven of them specify once. One writer expected unlimited refills and found otherwise. Only one post says several refills are possible.
  4. Fourteen posts call it good value, and none call it expensive. One couple paid 30,000 won for two hairtail sets. Another writer compared this with nearby crab houses, which start around 30,000 won per person.
2 more
  1. Six posts say the marinated crab is not salty, and three say the spicy crab leans sweet.
  2. Six posts describe the room as large and five as clean. Tables are mostly four-tops, and one pair was seated at one; another writer noted the tables are close together. Several said turnover is fast. One said food arrived almost as soon as they ordered.

Parking

1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 22 posts

Parking is unclear. One writer who drove parked at a public lot, walked about five minutes, and says there is no dedicated lot. Other posts repeat the same list of four public lots. Within that copied text, one says about four cars fit beside the shop and another mentions a small reserved area. We did not count copied text.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post describes which floor the dining room is on. The only clue is the '1F' in the address.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That does not mean there is none, only that no one wrote about it.

One post found the toilet clean despite the crowds. No one says whether it is inside the restaurant or separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Heat depends on the dish. Two posts found the hairtail or the spicy crab genuinely hot. Two others said the hairtail is sweeter than it is spicy, or that the pork is mild.
  • Only one post arrived by public transport: by train from Suncheon, then a bus to near the restaurant. It gives no stop name and no walking time.
  • High chairs appear only in copied listing details in two posts. No post records a visit with children.
  • Most posts give the hours as 09:30–21:00 daily, with a break from 15:30 to 17:00 and last orders at 20:00, but nearly all of them copied this from the listing. One post gives the closing time as 21:30. Two say the shop is open every day of the year. One warns it may close early when the queue is long.
  • Every post gives the same price for the cheapest 10,000-won set but not the same name. Posts from the same weeks call it either a soy stone-crab set or a home-style set of twelve side dishes and soup, so we cannot tell whether crab is included. No post ordered it.
  • Posts give two phone numbers, 061-662-4883 and 0507-1408-4883. No one tried to book a table, and one post's copied details say there is no online waitlist.
  • Several posts use near-identical wording for the directions — the alley left of the strawberry-mochi shop, next to IBK Bank — and list the same four public car parks. We treat this as the shop's own directions copied over and did not use it as evidence. Four posts also mention a receipt-review promotion that gives a free drink or a Daiso coupon.
