Lamb Garden
램가든 Raemgadeun Charcoal lamb house in Songcheon-dong

Data as of · Published ·
Lamb Garden is a charcoal lamb house on Sageun 1-gil in Songcheon-dong, Jeonju, facing the front gate of the Hyundai 3-cha flats — not inside the eating-alley but on the street in front of it. Four cuts: French rack, shoulder rack, intercostal rib, and skewers. Everything except the skewers is grilled at your table by the staff and cut for you. A plate of stir-fried bean sprouts gets talked about as much as the meat, and there is a run of rice and noodle dishes to finish with. Half eleven to ten, last orders at nine, closed the first Monday of each month. The posts we read run from March 2025 to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours
What sets it apart
- You do not grill your own meat here — twenty-three posts say so and none says otherwise. A member of staff stands at the charcoal, turns the lamb, cuts it and moves it to the cool edge of the grill for you. Three writers describe an order to it, the French and shoulder racks first and the fattier rib cut last; three more note that the bones are grilled at the very end. Say how you want it done and they will do it — one writer was advised to take it rarer than they would ordinarily, and eat it like beef. One says even the spring-onion skewers get grilled for you. The lamb skewers are the single exception: those you cook yourself.
- Seven posts say the lamb does not smell of lamb, and none says it does. Three of them are written by people who had decided they disliked lamb and changed their minds — "so that's what I'd been eating all this time." One credits the charcoal; two say a first-timer would have no trouble. It does depend on the cut, though: two writers single out the intercostal rib as the one where the animal comes through. One insists a pinch of salt is all it needs; six others still fetch cumin, turmeric powder and the shop's spice blends from the self-service counter.
- People book. Six posts did — by phone or through Naver. One lists it among its tips: decide the date, then reserve. Another passes on the shop's own advice, that on Fridays and Saturdays there may be no table without one. Two found the table laid when they arrived; one took two tables for a group; one noticed the next table was a booking too. Two writers walked in without one, on a weekday at 5pm and 6.20pm, and both found the room quiet.
- There are high chairs, and four writers saw them for themselves. Two parents rate the place partly for that — "the thing restaurants always look like they'd have and then don't." One spotted them on the way out and adds that there were other young families in. Five posts came with children: a family of four with a middle-schooler and a pre-schooler, twins, and one writer timing a baby's feed between photographs. One notes the children preferred the skewers; another mixed the salty soybean paste into a child's rice a little at a time. There are no private rooms, but two writers say wooden partitions break the room up so it does not feel wide open.

Parking
13 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

There is no car park — all thirteen posts that raise it say the same thing. There is something behind the building, but it comes back as "tight," "cramped," "don't even think about it"; one writer went round the back and had to reverse out onto the road. In practice people leave the car at the kerb or in front of the shop (six posts), in the Hyundai 3-cha car park opposite (two, both noting there is no barrier), or in the surrounding lanes (three). One writer was told by the restaurant itself to just park out front, and two conclude you should come without a car at all — one of them mainly so you can drink. Nobody reports having to give up and go home.

Getting there

Getting inside
No post says what floor it is on. The registered address puts it on the ground floor, but in twenty-eight posts nobody mentions a floor, a stair or a lift. Four describe the outside and all four stop at impressions — smart, expensive-looking, a handsome picture window — with nothing about whether you walk straight in or step up. The car park is repeatedly said to be "behind the building," which suggests a building you can enter from either side, but that is us inferring, not anyone reporting.
Nobody writes about getting in with a wheelchair or a pushchair. In twenty-eight posts the words for wheelchair, pushchair, step, threshold and ramp do not appear once. Five writers came with children and four noticed the high chairs — and not one of the five says what happened to the pushchair. The only lines that touch the entrance at all are about the big window, how you can see right into the room, and one owner holding the door open. None of that answers whether there is a step.
Across twenty-eight posts the toilet comes up exactly once. A March 2025 writer photographed the door code and says only that. That is the whole of it — we know there is a keypad, and nothing else: not whether the toilet is inside the restaurant or out in the building, not whether it is shared between men and women, not whether it is clean. In the other twenty-seven posts the word does not appear. That is not a no. That is us not knowing.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The prices have gone up twice. A portion of French rack held at ₩24,000 across five posts from May 2025 to February 2026, and reads ₩27,000 in September 2026. The shoulder rack went ₩23,000 → ₩24,000 → ₩25,000, the rib cut ₩19,000 → ₩20,000. Four of the six posts that call the place expensive were written before those rises, so it is dearer now than they found it. Three writers record a total: ₩170,000-odd for two in August 2026, ₩212,000 for a table of eight in June. "When the wallet allows," "for an anniversary," "if I ever win the lottery" turn up in three different posts. Nobody says the price kept them away — eight writers record a return visit. One got ten per cent off through a corporate arrangement, one notes the same discount on takeaway for camping, and one used a government consumption voucher.
- The skewers are the one thing the writers cannot agree on. Three call them frozen; one describes them sticking to the wire rack and carrying a smell the fresh cuts did not; another, given a taster plate, was put out to find them frozen. But a March 2026 post says flatly that the skewers too were all fresh meat, and was pleased about it. We cannot say which is current — by date, the fresh-meat post is the older one. What is certain is that you grill the skewers yourself (three posts). And those who ate the chops first mostly shrug: you could get these anywhere.
- There are no private rooms. A June 2026 post says so plainly: for a party you push tables together. Five writers nonetheless came for work dinners or group meals, and two describe "group seating" and "private-feeling seats" — which, read against the photographs, means the wooden partitions and the space between tables, not separate rooms. One says they never once heard the next table clearly; two note that most seats are fours. Parties of seven and of eight each appear once. You may bring your own wine — one writer copies the board's corkage line at ₩20,000 and another brought a bottle and paid it. It is not free.
- Not one of the twenty-eight posts records a wait. Nobody counts minutes, and nobody mentions chairs outside or a list at the door. What there is instead: one writer relaying that on a Friday or Saturday there may simply be no table, and three impressions of a busy room — "plenty of tables and plenty of people," "steadily full," "people were streaming in, so I had hopes." Two who came on a weekday afternoon or early evening found it quiet. It reads like a place you get turned away from rather than queue at — but nobody has actually been turned away and written about it.
- No post declares a sponsorship. Nine state they paid their own way; four were treated — by the head of a supper club, a younger brother, a friend, a mother. Fifteen say nothing either way. The count is twenty-eight, not thirty: one post was dropped entirely as a backlink page with not a line about this restaurant (its only "Lamb Garden" is a different one, in Seoul), and one is a business listing from a phone directory that labels its own photographs as generic stock. One further post was written by a person but finished by a machine — tables, emoji headings, a price rounded to "the ₩7,000 range," and a cold noodle dish described as a stir-fry. Its meat order is specific enough to keep, so we kept the post and dropped only that dish from the count.
- One writer took issue with the service. A January 2026 post is titled "the serving let it down," and says the meat and the cooking were beyond reproach but small carelessnesses at the table nagged all evening — without saying which. Three others found the staff warm, and one of those draws the distinction that matters here: it depends who is at the grill. "When the owner cooks it, it is the real thing; that night it was an employee, and you could tell." Two posts name the owner as their griller and both are glowing. In a restaurant where someone else cooks your meat, who that someone is is part of the meal.
- Not a line about getting here without a car. In twenty-eight posts there is no bus number, no stop name, nobody walking and nobody in a taxi. Every set of directions is written for a driver — opposite the flats' front gate, on the row before the eating-alley, park on the verge or in the estate. Two writers do advise leaving the car so you can drink, and neither says what to come in instead. How you reach this place by public transport from anywhere in Jeonju, we do not know.
