Tokkiwa Geobugi

토끼와거북이 Tokkiwa Geobugi means 'The Hare and the Tortoise', after the fable; one visitor noticed a painting of the two animals inside.

A Jeju home-cooking restaurant in a large building on the Yongdam coastal road, about five minutes' drive from Jeju airport. It serves braised and grilled hairtail, grilled mackerel, abalone stew, abalone porridge and sea-urchin seaweed soup, plus the Tokki-sang set that brings many dishes to one table; grilled black pork and fried damselfish come as free sides. Many writers stopped here for their first meal after picking up a rental car, or their last before returning it. We read 10 posts from June 2025 to September 2026; 9 describe an actual meal. None gives a price.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Six posts say the dining room is big. A party of fourteen took one corner and barely made a dent, one writer said. Two posts describe tables to the left and right of the entrance and spacious private rooms, and several mention large groups eating there.
  2. Two posts say the food came quickly; one had the full spread on the table soon after ordering, and the party of fourteen counted the speed as a plus. No post complained of a wait for food.
  3. Four posts describe generous spreads or portions, and one refilled side dishes before the mains arrived. One post disagreed, finding the fish in the braised hairtail scant.
  4. Two posts are from repeat visitors: one has been five or six times since a first visit about ten years ago, the other always comes here first after landing in Jeju.

  1. Five posts are family meals, two with children, several of them taking parents along. One writer came alone and one with her husband.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Posts saying you can park4 of 9 posts

Four posts parked here, three of them noting a large lot; a family arriving in several cars said the size of the lot was the first thing that struck them. The 'private parking' lines in other posts were copied from listings and not counted.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 9 posts read)
Toilet inside1 of 9 posts

Only one post mentions a floor: it walked into a wide ground-floor hall. Another thought there might be tables upstairs but did not go up, so a second floor is unconfirmed.

We do not know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in; no one wrote about it from experience, and the 'accessible facilities' line in one post was copied from a listing.

One post says the toilet is straight ahead as you enter. Whether it is split by gender appears only in a copied listing, so we do not know.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 10 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post describes getting here by bus; everyone who described the trip came by rental car. One writer briefly struggled to find the sign because the building sits a little back from the main road.
  • Only one post mentions waiting: a party of fourteen got in without much of one. A weekday visitor counted about three other groups. No one wrote about weekend or lunchtime waits.
  • Four posts give opening hours, all copied from listings. Three say daily 08:00-20:30 with a 15:30-17:00 break and last order at 19:30; one says until 21:00. No post mentions a closing day.
  • No post gives any price, so we know neither menu prices nor what a meal costs.
  • Three posts list the phone number as 0507-1408-4444 and one as 064-713-4444. No one says whether the restaurant takes bookings.
  • Posts disagree on the sea view: one saw open sea in front of the building, while a regular of over ten years says new buildings now block it from the tables. The KBS '2 Days & 1 Night' appearance mentioned in two posts is hearsay and not counted.
