Korean

Jeju Jeongji

제주정지 Jeongji is the Jeju-dialect word for the kitchen, as one diner noted on the visit.

Compiled from 23 blog posts read in fullSources →

A hairtail restaurant in a standalone building right on the Yongdam coastal road in Yongdam-samdong, Jeju City. Fifteen posts ate the Jeongji special set — boneless braised hairtail and a whole grilled hairtail with abalone, pork belly, soy crab and sea-urchin soup — listed at 70,000 won for two and 100,000 for three. Six had the B set (25,000 won a head, two minimum: braised hairtail, grilled tilefish, pork, seafood hot pot, soy crab), and solo diners can order a 15,000-won single braise. It opens at 8:30 a.m., and several people stopped in for breakfast on the way to or from the airport. We read thirty posts from 16 March 2025 to 28 October 2026; twenty-three describe an actual meal.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Fourteen posts call the dining room large. Six mention floor seating — shoes-off seats, a raised wooden platform. One post describes a two-storey building with a lower floor, all of it restaurant, and an upstairs room big enough for a company dinner.
  2. Six posts mention floor-to-ceiling windows, with the sea just across the road; one diner watched the sun set and the sea go dark during dinner.
  3. Ten posts say the portions are large. Two adults and a child were comfortably full on the three-person set; another couple boxed up the leftover braise from the two-person set.
  4. Seven posts say the seasoning is not salty, mostly about the soy crab; none says it was too salty.
4 more
  1. Six posts say the boiled pork belly had no off smell; it comes with dressed scallion.
  2. Six posts saw a wall of celebrity autographs and photos. Claims like '30 years' or 'soy sauce aged 50 years' come from the house itself, so we do not count them.
  3. No post calls it expensive; seven say it is good value for what arrives. Two of those disclose sponsorship and two say the diner paid.
  4. Four posts came with children and two saw high chairs; the boneless braise was easy for kids.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Second floor1 of 23 posts
Toilet inside1 of 23 posts

No one described which floor you eat on. One post says the toilets are on a lower level and a group room upstairs; nobody says whether the entrance is at street level. The '2F' in the address is copied text.

Nobody mentions steps at the door, wheelchair or stroller access, or a lift — we simply don't know.

One post found clean toilets on the lower floor. Separate men's and women's rooms appear only in a copied info block, so we don't know.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 6 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-282 posts in one day
2026-10-262 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • One self-paid post (June 2026) would not go back: the 15,000-won single braise held only scraps of fish, unlike the promotional photos. It ordered the single dish, not a set.
  • No one arrived by bus; nearly everyone drove a rental car five to ten minutes from the airport. One post only suggests checking airport bus routes.
  • Only one post speaks to waiting: no queue around 3 p.m. on a Sunday. Nobody reports peak lunch or dinner waits.
  • Opening hours appear in fourteen posts, mostly in copied info blocks: twelve say 8:30 a.m.–9 p.m., two say 8 a.m. Eleven give a 3:30–5 p.m. break and seven a last order at 8 p.m. Twelve say closed Thursdays; one July 2026 post says Thursdays open at 2 p.m.
  • The sea-urchin soup is 15,000 won in a May 2026 post and 12,000 in August and September 2026 posts — copied from the menu, so it may be a price cut or a transcription slip. The whole-hairtail braise appears under different sizes and prices.
  • Most posts give the phone number 0507-1348-0825; a few give 064-711-0810. Two posts booked via Naver and got free fritters.
  • Five posts from 26–28 October 2026 share a title pattern and footer and name no dish or price, so we did not count them. Five posts disclose sponsorship. One post was about a different restaurant and was set aside.
