KOGIJANG

고기장 Gogijang Gogi means meat; the posts never explain the jang, and one blogger only guessed it might be short for gogi-jangin, a master of meat.

Compiled from 23 blog posts read in fullSources →

Gogijang is a two-storey black-pig and white-pig barbecue house on the Yongdam coastal road behind Jeju airport, across from Eoyeong Park. Staff grill everything at the table; the signature is the Jinjeongseong set — 500g of neck, belly, jowl and shoulder-blade cut for 58,000 won. The sea is right outside, and many posts went at sunset. We read 30 posts dated 2 March to 16 October 2026; 24 describe a visit. Five were set aside as being about other places or the separate Jungmun branch in Seogwipo, and one was a single line in a list.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Staff do the grilling — all 21 posts that described ordering said so. The first piece comes salted on a small plate, then the server walks you through the sauces one by one. One post complained it took ages to cook; another said the belly was grilled almost to burning and came out hard.
  2. It depends on the hour. Nine posts waited and two walked straight in (a Monday at 6 pm, a late weekday evening). Recorded waits were 5 minutes (Wednesday 7 pm), 13 minutes (8 pm, five groups ahead) and 40 minutes. One post waited even on a Monday evening, another briefly at 9 pm. One sat on chairs out front watching the sunset; several joined the CatchTable remote queue and waited in Eoyeong Park.
  3. There is outdoor seating too: three posts mention tables in the front yard. One booked through Naver specifically to sit outside and thought it would be hard to get at sunset without a booking.
  4. Five posts say lettuce, chillies, garlic and extra side dishes come from a self-serve bar.

Parking

Posts saying you can park9 of 23 posts

Nine posts parked without trouble. Four put the spaces out front at three, three to five, four, or 'a few' cars; when those are full, people used the public lot by Eoyeong Park across the road.

Getting inside

Second floor10 of 23 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 6 (of 23 posts read)
Lift to the floor1 of 23 posts

There are two floors; ten posts mention the upstairs and seven watched the sea through the windows. One post, sent upstairs because the ground floor was full, said there is a lift inside. Another phoned ahead and was told you cannot reserve an upstairs table — you get one on arrival if it is free.

Nobody said whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or pushchair gets in. One post mentions a lift inside, nothing more. That means we don't know, not that there is no access.

No one described the toilets from experience. A single 'separate men's and women's toilets' line was copied from the listing, so we did not count it.

No one mentioned: Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 24 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Only one post covered buses: a 4-minute walk from the Eoyeong village stop, but the branch line rarely runs. Everyone else drove or walked from a nearby hotel.
  • Eleven posts agree on opening hours of 12:00-22:00. The afternoon break varies: 15:00-16:30 in seven, 14:40-17:00 in three (two say that is Sunday's), 14:40-16:30 in two. Four give last entry at 21:10, one last order at 21:00. Most of this was copied from the listing, so check before going.
  • Two posts gave a full bill: about 200,000 won for five with the set, extra belly, fried rice, stew, noodles and drinks, and 68,000 won for two with the set, stew, two bowls of rice and a soda. On price, one post called it reasonable and another found the 12,000-won highball steep.
  • The kimchi stew was paid for at 8,000 won in one post, free with a Naver booking in two, and simply comped in one. When it comes free is not consistent.
  • Four posts give the phone number 0507-1446-1514; one adds 064-713-1207. Four booked through Naver, and several used CatchTable's remote queue.
  • There is a separate Gogijang branch in Jungmun, Seogwipo (Iljuseo-ro 741). We left its two posts out of these counts.
