Samdajeong

삼다정 The posts do not explain the name; as words, samda ('three abundances') echoes Jeju's old nickname Samdado, the island of plentiful wind, stones and women, and jeong can mean a pavilion.

Samdajeong is the buffet restaurant inside the Maison Glad Jeju hotel at 80 Noyeon-ro, Yeon-dong, Jeju City, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. We read 30 posts dated 18 September to 22 October 2026; only 6 record actually eating here (4 breakfasts, 2 lunches and one Sunday second-seating meal, with one post covering both breakfast and lunch). Most of the rest are hotel write-ups carrying booking links, and we set aside 3 that were not about this restaurant. What the diners agree on is the Jeju corner: pork noodle soup, sea-urchin seaweed soup, bracken beef soup, braised potatoes, hijiki rice. Many posts copy a breakfast list price of 48,000 won per adult; two diners paid the 38,400-won hotel-guest rate.

What sets it apart

  1. The window side is bright. Two diners mentioned the light — one said the floor-to-ceiling windows make the hall very bright, the other that the daylight made the meal pleasant. The first was seated by the garden-facing glass and advised sitting near it.
  2. Even weekday lunch fills up. One diner found lunch fully booked on a weekday; telling the front desk they were staying at the hotel got them a table. That guests get held seats is the writer's guess.
  3. A regular's view of weekends: one writer who says they go fairly often chose the Sunday second seating to avoid crowds, found most of the food had gone cold, and resolved not to come on weekends.
  4. One diner actually used a promotion — 38% off for anyone with an 8 in their birth date (25% for Jeju residents) — for lunch. Other offers (by occupation, birthday month) were copied from the map listing, so we did not count them.

  1. One diner noticed foreign guests clustering at the salad bar while Koreans went to the Korean dishes — the room split east and west, as they put it.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No diner described the floor or the way in from experience. Promo posts say ground floor and one diner says it is off the main lobby; nobody mentions stairs — not that there are none, just that no one wrote about it.

No one said whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in, or whether there is a step. Hotel notices mention accessible facilities in general, not the restaurant entrance.

Nobody wrote about where the toilets are or whether they are separated by sex.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 21 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-223 posts in one day
2026-10-012 posts in one day
2026-09-272 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices are mostly copied. The 48,000/28,000-won breakfast, 67,000-won lunch and 108,000-won dinner figures come from hotel notices, and one September 2026 post gave breakfast as 45,000 won. Diners reported the 38,400-won guest rate, and one paid 30,000 won by booking at check-in; promo posts cite 33,000 won for non-refundable advance booking. That is all we have on what a meal actually cost.
  • Hours: two diners agree on breakfast from 7:00 to 10:00 with last entry at 9:30. The only full-day schedule among diners' posts was copied from the map listing (daily 7:00–21:00 with breaks). Most posts put weekday lunch at 12:00, one at 11:30; weekend and holiday lunch and dinner are said to run in two seatings.
  • Bus and shuttle details (buses 315/316 from the airport, about 15 minutes; a free hotel shuttle) come from hotel promos. No diner wrote about arriving by public transport.
  • Nobody reported queuing. The obstacle mentioned was a fully booked weekday lunch, and one diner enjoyed an uncrowded hall on a weekday morning.
  • Who people come with is unclear: apart from one breakfast on a friends' trip, no diner said, and none reported eating with family or children. Remarks about many families and plenty of high chairs are what writers saw around them.
  • The restaurant's phone number (0507-1321-8231) appears in only one post, copied from the map listing; others give the hotel switchboard. Nobody wrote about booking by phone.
  • Most posts we read are hotel promotions with affiliate booking links, several pasting the same booking-site blurb; none of those record a meal. Their 'best-value breakfast' lines are recycled reviews, and we did not count them.
