Seongsan Bada Punggyeong

성산바다풍경 Bada punggyeong means 'sea view' — Seongsan is the town under Seongsan Ilchulbong, and posts note the sea and the peak are visible from the lot and the window seats.

Seongsan Bada Punggyeong is a hairtail house just below Seongsan Ilchulbong, at 17 Ilchul-ro 288beon-gil. The main dish is a braise of hairtail and mackerel with radish and potato — 39,000 won for the small (two people), 59,000 medium, 79,000 large, 99,000 extra-large — and every braise comes with a free whole grilled hairtail sized to match. Thirteen visit posts say a staff member debones the grilled fish at your table. The two solo diners ordered either the small grilled hairtail (28,000 won) or the seafood stew (16,000 won). We read 23 posts dated September 27 to October 21, 2026; 16 are first-hand meals (one describes a May 2026 visit posted in October). Two were about other restaurants and set aside; five were lists or write-ups we did not count.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You don't have to order per head. Nine posts say there is no one-dish-per-person rule, and several quote the wall banner: order by how hungry you are, not by how many you are. Three people including a schoolchild shared one small braise; a family of four shared one medium. The smallest braise is still sized for two, though, so both solo diners ordered something else.
  2. Waits depend on the hour. Four posts mention a queue and one says there was none (walking in at the 10 a.m. opening). One put their name on the list over the Chuseok holiday and walked around for 30 minutes; another waited five minutes around 7:30 p.m.; a third sat straight down at 6:30 p.m. and watched the list grow to 18 people while eating. Five posts mention a waiting room or waiting seats.
  3. Nine posts call the prices good value and none call them high. The recurring point is getting both braised and grilled hairtail for 39,000 won. One family of four worked out the medium braise (59,000 won) at under 15,000 won a head.
  4. Nine posts say you top up side dishes yourself at a self-serve bar; several went back repeatedly for the wild seaweed served with chojang dip.

Parking

11 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park11 of 16 posts

Eleven posts say they parked in the lot in front. Three describe its size — one says about 20 cars, two just call it roomy. One post alone places the lot across the road. Several mention seeing the peak, Udo and the sea from the lot.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 16 posts read)

No one described the floor from experience; '1st floor' appears only in the address and in copied listings. That is not proof there are no steps — just that nobody said.

Nobody mentioned an entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. We don't know.

Only one post mentions the toilets, saying they are upstairs and downstairs in the same building — so outside the restaurant itself. Nobody said whether they are separate by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 21 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-093 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Five posts call the braise spicy; four call it mildly hot but 'not fiery'. Five call it sweet. One family gave the grilled fish to a child who can't take heat.
  • One post came by bus, from Pyoseon, and waited a long time for the return bus, which seemed to run about once an hour. Stop and route details appear only in a list post copying the restaurant's own directions, so we didn't count them.
  • Twelve posts give opening hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., mostly copied from the listing. Nine put last orders at 8 p.m. and one at 9 p.m.; eight say it is closed Wednesdays. One list post we didn't count says it opens at 9 a.m.
  • Several posts give the phone number 0507-1363-9779, and one solo diner called ahead and was told to come any time. Some posts link Naver booking, but nobody actually booked, so we don't know whether a reservation skips the queue.
  • Some posts were left out. One discloses a paid commission, and another follows the same template (same menu table, same 'only when the divers go out' line, same Q&A); both summarize the Naver listing rather than a meal. A third, stuffed with the same search phrase, says you choose hairtail or mackerel for the braise, which contradicts the visit posts saying both come in one pot, so we didn't count it.
