Seogwiposi Chukhyeop Chuksanmul Peullaja Seongsanjeom
서귀포시축협 축산물플라자 성산점 Chukhyeop is short for the Seogwipo City livestock cooperative, and Chuksanmul Plaza means a livestock-products plaza: a co-op butcher on the ground floor with a dining room upstairs, here at its Seongsan branch.
Compiled from 24 blog posts read in fullSources →
A butcher-and-grill dining room run by the Seogwipo livestock cooperative, a short way from Seongsan Ilchulbong. You pick packs of black pork or hanwoo beef at the ground-floor counter, pay, carry them upstairs, and grill them yourself for a 5,000-won-per-person table charge. Basic sides come to the table, more are at a self-serve corner, and you can add cold noodles, brisket soybean stew, steamed egg or galbitang. Several posts say beef goes on charcoal and pork on a grill plate. We read 30 posts from May 2025 to October 2026; setting aside one about a different branch, 24 describe actually eating here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Cheap is the dominant verdict: 9 posts found the price good, 1 found it expensive and 2 were mixed. Totals given include 29,000 won for two with the table charge, under 100,000 won for a family of four eating their fill, and around 60,000 won for two sharing nearly 1.2 kg. The one dissenting post paid about 100,000 won for some 600 g of hanwoo and felt it was pricier than the Hanaro Mart supermarket; another put the co-op about 1,000 won per gram above that supermarket.
- The self-serve corner is central here: 10 posts say they topped up sides from it, listing lettuce and greens, kimchi, garlic and green chillies, and in summer even watermelon. Anchovy dipping sauce is disputed: one post missed it, two found it at the corner. One post did not realise the scallion salad and pickled radish had to be bought downstairs.
- Five posts call the upstairs room spacious; one counted well over 20 tables and felt less self-conscious when the baby fussed. Three call it clean. One October 2025 visit, though, found it full and noisy, with diners complaining about slow service, and said they would not return.
- Four posts describe going with children, and 2 of those mention high chairs. Two posts say young children pay no table charge.
1 more
- Company is varied: family 9 posts, a spouse or partner 7, friends 4, a group 1. Several posts remark that many of the other diners looked like locals or older neighbourhood residents.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Second floor | 18 of 24 posts |
|---|---|
| Lift to the floor | 1 of 24 posts |
The dining room is upstairs; 18 posts describe going up to eat. First-timers can be confused: one family found a closed restaurant on the ground floor and nearly left thinking the place was shut. Only 1 post mentions taking the lift, saying they were glad it existed after a leg injury.
Many posts place the dining room on the first floor up, but none describes the stairs or any lower level. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is nothing to say.
No post mentions an entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. Only one post, from October 2026, mentions the lift. We do not know.
No post says where the toilets are or whether they are separated by sex. We do not know.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opening hours differ slightly from post to post. Five posts give times, four of them copied info blocks. They agree on 11:00-21:00 and closed Wednesdays, but the break is 14:30-17:00 in 3 posts and 15:00-17:00 in 1 (June 2025), and last order is 19:40 in 3 and 20:00 in 2. One October 2026 weekday-evening visit found the kitchen closing at 8 pm and was asked to leave by 8:20. Another arrived at 14:20 and was told the restaurant could not be used, so check before going near the end of lunch.
- No post describes taking a bus to the door. Two walked from hotels in Seongsan (one about ten minutes), and one came from the airport on the 111 bus to Seongsan and went on foot, but nobody describes the walk from a stop to the restaurant.
- No post reports queuing. Several found it quiet early and full soon after; one January 2026 post arrived late to find the meat counter picked over and every table taken, and nearly had to leave. Nobody says whether bookings are taken.
- Meat is priced by whatever packs you pick downstairs, so there is no set per-person price; the figures in posts are totals for what each party bought. No post gives prices for the upstairs dishes such as noodles, stew or galbitang, apart from one mention of beef tartare at 20,000 won.
- Only one post gives a phone number (064-782-9340), copied from an info block, so we could not confirm it. Nobody says whether reservations are taken.
- One August 2026 post is written as a template guide, with a star rating, 'visit tips' and an info block but no account of what was eaten, so we left it out of the counts. The co-op also runs branches in Andeok and Seogwipo; one post about takeaway radish soup from the Seogwipo branch was excluded as not about this one.
