Korean

Haerang · Koji

해랑·코지 Two names for one dining room in Phoenix Island's B building: Koji is the breakfast buffet, Haerang the Korean restaurant that takes over for lunch and dinner.

Compiled from 14 blog posts read in fullSources →

One dining room on the ground floor of Phoenix Island's B building in Seongsan, Jeju, under two names: Koji, a breakfast buffet from 7:00 to 10:30, and Haerang, a Korean restaurant for lunch and dinner. The buffet is 43,000 won for adults at list price, 39,000 for hotel guests and 35,000 for members, unchanged between 2025 and 2026 posts. At Haerang, posts describe black-pork dinners you grill yourself (a 600 g platter for 90,000 won) and a 25,000-won lunch tray. We read 30 posts from June 2025 to October 2026. Fifteen of them actually ate here (14 at Koji, 5 at Haerang); the rest are resort reviews and booking-link posts.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Nine posts describe the buffet hall as roomy, with tables well spaced. It still fills up late in the morning: one weekend visitor at about 9:00 found nearly every table taken and popular dishes empty, and that day the Haerang side was opened for overflow. Another who arrived just before 9:00 also found it packed.
  2. Eight posts ate here with children. Three mention a corner where kids make their own rice balls, and two say staff brought baby tableware and a high chair, once at Haerang dinner and once at Koji breakfast.
  3. Three posts note that some things are cooked to order at the buffet: you hand over a bowl of ingredients for rice noodles, and eggs are fried to your liking.
  4. Four posts mention booking. Two say breakfast has to be reserved ahead, one of them the day before. For Haerang dinner, one family phoned before 4 p.m. on the day and another pre-booked a discounted set.

  1. At Haerang you grill the meat yourself, which one post regretted. A September 2025 post said the burners were so weak, even at full, that the meat took forever, and other tables were waiting too.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 14 posts read)

No post mentions a step at the entrance, wheelchair or stroller access, or a lift; we simply do not know. One post says it walked to Koji on the B-building ground floor.

Only one post mentions toilets: a dim passage past a wall near Haerang's entrance. Whether they are inside the restaurant or in the building corridor, and whether they are separated by sex, we do not know.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 14 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Accounts of Haerang's staff split two to one: two posts found them helpful, while one said a request for a second salt dish for five people was refused curtly and would not return.
  • Posts disagree on value: four found it expensive, while one called Koji good value and one said Haerang beat restaurants outside. September 2026 had a one-month adult price of 33,000 won, so check the current price before going. No post gives the price of the Montak set.
  • No post describes reaching the restaurant by public transport. The airport shuttle times in posts are copied from the resort's notices, and nearly every diner was a hotel guest.
  • No post reports waiting. One weekday visitor says there was no queue for breakfast; on a weekend around 9:00 another found it nearly full, so whether a line forms on weekend mornings we cannot say.
  • Opening hours: posts agree that Koji runs 7:00 to 10:30 with last entry at 9:30, and Haerang 12:00 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 21:00. Haerang's lunch last order is given as 13:00 in one post and 13:30 in posts that did not visit.
  • Phone: three posts each give 064-731-7719 for Koji and 064-731-7714 for Haerang; one lists 0507-1391-7732. Breakfast and Haerang dinner reservations go through these numbers.
  • Half the posts are resort booking-link or group-buy promotions. Four affiliate posts share the same wording, order and breakfast prices with no record of eating; we did not count them.
