Chinese

Jeju Dongchunok

제주동춘옥 Ok is a common suffix for an eating house; the posts give no meaning for Dongchun, and the Jeju prefix is how the place is listed on Naver.

A Chinese restaurant that opened in June 2026 on Namseongjung-ro in Seohong-dong, Seogwipo, below Chilsimni Poetry Park and Sammaebong Library. It serves the standard black-bean noodles, jjamppong and sweet and sour pork plus dishes like chili prawns (35,000 won), ordered and paid for on a tablet at each table. An opening offer puts jjajangmyeon at 5,000 won (one post gives 8,000 as the usual price); a typical meal runs around 9,000 won for mussel jjamppong and 13,000 for a mini sweet and sour pork. We read 7 posts dated June 14 to October 10, 2026, all from people who ate there; none disclosed sponsorship.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Six posts mention the 5,000-won jjajangmyeon offer, and it shows up without a break from the June 14 post to the October 10 one. Two say it is capped at 100 bowls a day. No one says when it ends.
  2. Jjamppong comes in spice levels. One writer ordered beef jjamppong at the top level, found it as hot as Buldak noodles or hotter, and advises using a spoon because chili oil floats on top. Another post also calls the jjamppong distinctly spicy.
  3. Two posts say food came slowly: one was the first customer at the 10 a.m. opening and still waited a long time for the sweet and sour pork; another waited a long while for jjamppong and saw other tables asking about their orders.

Getting inside

No post says which floor the dining room is on or whether there are stairs.

No post says whether the entrance has a step or is wheelchair or stroller accessible. That means we don't know, not that it isn't.

No post says where the restroom is or whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Accounts of the sweet and sour pork differ. A June post found the meat almost paper-thin, a September post said it was not thin at all, an August post found plenty of meat, and a late-June post said it tasted of nothing.
  • We know little about waits. One post says there can be a wait when the lunch crowd hits, though that writer was seated right away; another arrived at opening and was the first customer. No post records an actual wait time.
  • Only one post arrived by public transport, after an hour on the bus. No one names the nearest stop.
  • The only posts that say who they came with are three family visits. None describe coming with friends or coworkers, alone, or as a couple, so we can't say how it suits those.
  • Two posts went with children. The high chairs and takeout for every dish appear only in one post's copied shop-info block, so we don't count them.
  • Two posts agree on hours of 10:00 to 21:00 with last orders at 20:30, and the copied shop info in two others also says 10:00 to 21:00. Only a June 23, 2026 post's copied info lists 10:00 to 22:00 with no closing day, and it is the only post to mention closing days at all.
  • The prices we have are from the opening promotion. Beyond one post giving 8,000 won as the regular jjajangmyeon price, we don't know what things will cost once it ends.
  • The phone number 064-733-2020 appears only in one post's map card, and no one says whether reservations are taken.
