Heuk Shabu

흑샤브 Heuk means black — the name is short for black-pork shabu-shabu, since the house serves Jeju black pork (heukdwaeji) in a hot pot.

Compiled from 12 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Jeju black-pork shabu-shabu house on the fifth floor of 61-1 Chilsimni-ro, right across from Seogwipo harbour. Each diner orders one set of meat and broth (clear shiitake or spicy doenjang, or half and half) and has free run of a self-serve bar with fritters, puffer-fish nuggets, rice-paper wrap fixings, hand-pulled sujebi dough, coffee and ice cream. Per October 2025 posts it costs 17,900 won at weekday lunch and 22,900 won at weekday dinner, weekends and holidays. We read 16 posts from 3 October 2025 to 17 October 2026; 13 describe a visit, and 9 of those fall in the single week of 3-9 October 2025, just after opening.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The place is set up for children. Seven of the 13 visit posts mention an in-house playroom; one says the TV shows only the playroom CCTV feed so parents can watch while eating, another mentions a monitor. One post lists toys, books and an arcade machine inside; another notes the room is not large. Three posts mention high chairs, and several say child-size tableware sits by the self-serve bar.
  2. Four posts mention floor-to-ceiling windows over the harbour and Saeyeongyo bridge. Two October 2025 visitors watched the Friday/Saturday 8 p.m. bridge fireworks while staff dimmed the lights; one went on a night it was rained off. The fireworks were described as running only until the end of October.
  3. Seven posts call the room spacious; one estimated well over 100 seats. Several mention solo seats at a counter, each with its own induction burner.

Parking

4 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park4 of 12 posts

Four posts describe the building's own car park. A visitor in late September 2025 got the last free space; three posts add that the free Seogwipo harbour lot across the road takes the overflow. One post says the ground-floor parking is free.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 6 (of 12 posts read)
Lift to the floor6 of 12 posts

It is on the fifth floor, reached by lift: six posts say they took the elevator up. It is not a basement space.

No one wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. We only know there is a lift.

No visitor described the toilets. One post's 'separate men's and women's toilets' sits in a copied checklist, so we did not count it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 14 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No one described getting there by bus. One visitor walked five minutes from a hotel by the harbour.
  • No post mentions waiting — that means nobody wrote about it, not that there is never a wait. One visitor was surprised how few customers there were; one booked a window seat ahead for the fireworks.
  • Opening hours are mostly given as 11:00-21:30, closed the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, but the afternoon break differs: 15:00-16:00 in seven posts, 15:00-17:00 in two, and 15:00-16:30 in the latest post (October 2026). Several posts copied these from info blocks or Naver Place.
  • Prices come only from October 2025 posts; none of the 2026 posts gave a price, so we do not know if it still costs the same.
  • Several posts give the phone number 064-762-4666. Only one visitor said they reserved, so we do not know how bookings work; one post says to phone ahead about the black Hanwoo.
  • Nine posts from the week after opening share the same hashtags and stock phrases about family dinners and group outings. None disclosed sponsorship, but they may be promotional, so read their praise with that in mind.
  • The self-serve spread changes: an October 2026 post noted chicken feet, pork-skin skewers and cold soba that were not there before, unlike the line-up described in October 2025.
