Neulsodam

늘소담 Neul means 'always' and sodam echoes sodamhada, 'modest yet plentiful and appetizing' — no post explains the name.

Compiled from 30 blog posts read in fullSources →

Neulsodam is a Korean restaurant on Tapdong-ro 31 in Jeju City, on the main road across from the Tapdong E-Mart. It serves noodles — pork-broth gogi-guksu (9,000 won), top-shell kalguksu (12,000 won), abalone kalbimmyeon (15,000 won) — and pot rice such as horned-turban-and-top-shell sotbap (13,000 won) and the gujaenggi tolbap set (18,000 won). You order and pay on a tablet or kiosk at the table; with pot rice you scoop out the rice and pour hot water into the pot to finish it as nurungji. A bowl of noodles is a 9,000-won meal; one post paid 30,000 won for a set and a kalguksu for two. Prices were the same in January 2025 and October 2026. We read 30 posts from January 2025 to October 2026, and all 30 describe eating here. Two disclosed sponsorship and three said they paid their own way.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Noodles come quickly; pot rice takes longer. Three posts said the pot rice takes a while. Two said food was fast — about ten minutes, and ten to fifteen minutes even with pot rice. One post passed on being told the pot rice takes 13 minutes. Two posts noted the noodles arrived first and the rice later.
  2. Side dishes are refillable. Ten posts say so — nine fetched more from the self-service bar by the kitchen or upstairs, one had staff top them up. Posts list pickled radish, kimchi, dried radish, squid jeotgal and braised lotus root as the standard sides. One post found aprons and spare cutlery at the self-service bar.
  3. You order from the table. Eleven posts ordered and paid on a tablet or kiosk at the table. One noted it runs in English, Japanese and Chinese as well as Korean, and two said each dish has a photo and description.
  4. Most posts came as families. Eleven went with family, six of them with children; two went as a couple and one alone. Nine posts mention high chairs, three received children's tableware, and four mention a microwave for warming baby food.
5 more
  1. Each table has a charger. Six posts mention phone chargers or power strips at the tables.
  2. The pork comes up repeatedly as clean-tasting. Seven posts found no gamey smell in the boiled pork, pork-bone soup, gogi-guksu or black pork, and none reported one. One recommended the gogi-guksu to people who dislike porky smells.
  3. Most found the portions generous: ten posts (the pork on the gogi-guksu, the mulhoe noodles, the pot rice), against one that found the portions small for the price.
  4. Seven posts called the prices easy on the wallet; none called them expensive, though one found the portions small for the price. Four posts received a bakery dessert or fresh juice through the receipt-review promotion.
  5. Eleven posts saw the celebrity signatures covering the walls and ceiling. TV appearances come up often, from in-store photos and hearsay, but no post names a programme.

Parking

3 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot3 of 30 posts

Three posts found there is no restaurant car park. One got lucky with a space for about two cars behind the building but wasn't sure it is always available; two parked at E-Mart and crossed the road. The roadside lunchtime parking window (11:30–13:30) and the Tapdong public car parks appear in many posts as copied listing text, so we did not count them.

Getting inside

Second floor21 of 30 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 12 (of 30 posts read)

Seating is on two floors. Twenty-one posts mention the second floor, and one only thought there might be one. When the ground floor fills up, guests go upstairs: a July 2025 post at 1 p.m. was sent up because the ground floor was full, and an October 2026 lunch post took the last free table downstairs with the upper floor full. There is a side-dish self-service corner upstairs too, and three posts say a microwave is available on the second floor. Twelve posts describe entering at ground level; none mention a basement.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. Posts mention stairs to the second floor and none mention a lift. That means nobody wrote about it, not that it is absent.

Two posts place the toilet on the staircase, partway up to the second and third floors. Whether it belongs to the restaurant or the building, and whether it is split by gender, no one wrote.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Heat depends on the dish. Four posts (three on the bibim-guksu, one on the kalbimmyeon) said not spicy; one thought the bibim-guksu would be hot for heat-averse eaters, and one called the black-pork hong-guksu fiery.
  • Twenty-one posts give opening hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., eighteen a 4–5 p.m. break and ten a last order at 8:30 p.m. — all copied from listings; one gives closing as 8:30 p.m. The day off seems to have changed: all seven posts up to November 2025 say Tuesday, while from December 2025 seven say Monday and Tuesday and five still say Tuesday. One post notes the platforms disagree, so check before going on a Monday.
  • Only one post met a queue, at lunch in October 2026; another heard it usually has one but found it quiet. No post says how long anyone waited. Three posts saw a waiting area.
  • No post arrived by bus. Many say it is about ten minutes by car from the airport; one traveller without a rental car took a taxi, about ten minutes. One walked from a hotel next door.
  • Most posts list the phone number 0507-1355-1325; four give 064-757-1325. Nobody wrote whether reservations are taken, though posts mention group seating upstairs.
  • One March 2026 post says that on an earlier visit noodles were the mainstay and the pot rice is new. It doesn't say when that was, and pot rice already appears in our earliest post from January 2025.
  • Promotional posts are mixed in. The two that disclosed sponsorship (June and July 2025) share an identical hashtag set, and two more posts went up the same day as one of them. Five 2026 posts repeat the same keyword string about the airport and Dongmun Market, and one left a Naver coupon widget half-deleted. They do describe eating here so we counted them, but the favourable counts may run high.
