Grill houseKorean

Hayeong Heukdwaeji Guijip

하영 흑돼지구이집 Hayeong is Jeju dialect for 'plenty' — the restaurant's wall motto 'Hayeong deupseo' means 'eat a lot, and enjoy'; heukdwaeji guijip simply means a black-pork grill house.

A large black-pork grill house at 101 Cheonjeyeon-ro, Seogwipo, near the Jungmun resort area. The signature is a mixed platter of skin-on belly, neck and the rarer nape cut: 67,000 won for the 600 g small (three posts say 66,000) and 98,000 won for the 900 g large. It comes with fernbrake doenjang and cheese-topped steamed egg, and the house's two-year-aged Haenam kimchi goes on the grill with the pork. We read 27 posts dated 9 to 21 October 2026. 24 record an actual meal, 2 were about something else and set aside, and 1 had no meal to count. Many posts repeat that the restaurant offers pickup and drop-off from Jungmun hotels, but none of them says they used it.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. There is more than one car park. Of 21 posts that mention parking, 20 say they parked or that there is a lot, and 13 mention the second and third lots behind the building as well as the one in front. One evening visitor found the front lot full. Another notes that parking in lot 2 lets you walk straight in through the back door.
  2. The terrace, opened up with folding doors, is what people remember. 16 posts mention terrace seating, and some say it fills before the indoor tables. One post says the terrace did not seem to be open that day. Seven posts mention floor seating indoors, and three mention private rooms.
  3. Twelve posts say the kimchi, green-onion kimchi and lettuce can be refilled from a self-serve bar; several say the lettuce is grown by the restaurant. Diners mostly grill their own meat. Three posts say staff or the owner grilled for them, one because the owner saw the family juggling two small children.
  4. Six posts describe visits with children, including a 23-month-old who ate the pork happily and staff setting out children's cutlery. Three posts confirm high chairs. Five posts describe visits as a couple.

Getting inside

Second floor1 of 24 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 24 posts read)
Step at the entrance3 of 24 posts

The restaurant sits up a slope from the car park. Three posts say they climbed steps from the parking lot to the entrance. One post says the tables and terrace are on the ground floor and there is also a second floor.

No post mentions entering with a wheelchair or stroller, or any lift or ramp. That does not mean there is no step-free way in, only that nobody wrote about it. We also do not know whether the back door from lot 2 is level.

No post says where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender. We don't know.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • One post went by bus: route 202 to the Jungmun resort entrance, then about a five-minute walk. The rest drove or did not say how they got there.
  • Only two posts mention waiting, and they differ. One saw people queuing when leaving after an early-October dinner. The other arrived at opening and found it quiet. No post gives a wait time. Two posts say they booked ahead.
  • The small platter's price varies between posts. Most give 67,000 won and three give 66,000; one post shows both, 67,000 in its info box and 66,000 in its meal notes. The difference does not follow the dates, so we cannot say which is current. Two posts call the price reasonable.
  • All 17 posts that give opening hours say 10:00 to 22:00 daily, but every one copies it from an info box. Two posts confirm there is no afternoon break by having eaten at 4:30 pm and at lunch. Last order at 21:00 and no closing days appear in one post only. Several posts give the same phone number, 0507-1416-6011, and one copies a note that groups of seven or more must book.
  • Four posts say corkage is free, but all copy it from the restaurant's own notice and none describes bringing a bottle. We have not counted it.
  • All 27 posts fall within two weeks. Only three disclose sponsorship, but most of the rest repeat the same phrases in the same order: Jungmun pickup, two-year Haenam kimchi, eleven straight years of an A+ hygiene grade, the stone-statue naengmyeon. One still contains an unfilled template line asking whether pets are allowed. We counted posts that record a real meal, but the tone of praise should be read with this in mind.
