Korean

Chakhanjip Jeju Gonghang Bonjeom

착한집 제주공항본점 Chakhan-jip means 'the good-natured house' — chakhan is also the everyday Korean word for a fair price, and the house's own copy, repeated in the posts, says it aims at fair prices for fresh fish.

A hairtail restaurant at 98 Seogwang-ro, Jeju City, about five minutes by car from Jeju airport (posts say anywhere from 3 to 10). The signature is galgal-jorim — deboned hairtail braised with pork back ribs (small 46,000 won); 11 of the 20 posts that ate here ordered it, and 10 added grilled mackerel (15,000 won). Set meals combine raw fish, a braise, grilled fish, stew and boiled pork: set B for two was 89,000 won, set C for three 160,000 won. Nearly everyone came by rental car, and many posts describe family meals with children and grandparents. We read 30 posts from 4 July to 18 October 2026; 20 record an actual meal, the other 10 only introduce the place. Most posts repeat the same promotional phrasing, and only 3 say they paid their own way.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Beyond the banchan brought to the table there is a self-serve bar: 16 of the 20 posts that ate here went back for more side dishes. Named items include japchae, kimchi, dongchimi, bean sprouts, bracken and cucumber salad; two posts got soy-marinated crab in the starter spread, and several mention mild dishes for children at the bar.
  2. Posts describe it as easy with small children: 9 say there were high chairs, often alongside children's tableware and a microwave for warming baby food. Several ordered the non-spicy mackerel or steamed egg for the kids.
  3. The walls carry celebrity autographs and photos; 7 posts saw them for themselves. Far more posts repeat that the place was on TV or recommended by named entertainers, but that is hearsay and we did not count it.
  4. Four posts ordered by kiosk or a tablet at the table, and four received a free steamed egg for writing a receipt review.

Posts saying you can park13 of 19 posts

Where it is

Map showing where Chakhanjip Jeju Gonghang Bonjeom is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post says which floor the dining room is on or whether there are stairs — not that there are none, just that nobody wrote it down.

Nobody reported from experience whether the entrance has a step or whether they got in with a wheelchair or stroller. Two posts paste a line saying the entrance and seats are wheelchair-accessible, but that is copied listing text and we do not rely on it.

No post mentions the toilets — where they are or whether they are separate. We don't know.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 10 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-152 posts in one day
2026-10-132 posts in one day
2026-10-113 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Heat is a split call: 7 posts found the braise spicy, mostly 'a little'; one said it was neither spicy nor strongly seasoned. On salt, one post found it salty and three did not.
  • Seven posts found the portions generous; one self-paid post felt the deboned hairtail braise was a little small.
  • Every post that ate here arrived by car; none came by bus or on foot. One post's line about a 12-minute walk from the Jeju City bus terminal is copied directions, not experience. We can't say how practical public transport is.
  • No post reports waiting. One arrived around noon and found empty tables; two noted the room was already fairly full right after the afternoon break or at a late lunch. Mentions of online waitlists and reservations are copied notices, so we don't know how long waits actually run.
  • Opening hours of 11:00 to 21:00 appear in 13 posts, Wednesday closing in 8, last order at 20:00 in 4. The afternoon break changed: three posts up to July 2026 give 15:00-17:00, eight from 14 August on give 15:30-17:30. One 18 October post repeats 15:00-17:00, which we read as stale copied info. One promotional post says it is open every day, contradicting the rest.
  • Most prices come from one October 2026 write-up's menu list; posts that ate here give galgal-jorim small at 46,000 won, seafood stew 15,000, set B 89,000 and set C 160,000. Two posts note rice is extra with the braises. Nobody called it expensive and one called it good value; per-person cost is hard to state because party sizes and orders vary so much.
  • Phone 064-713-7136 appears in more than 14 posts; one post alone gives 0507-1480-3848 with a different lot address, likely copied from another listing. Online and group bookings (a room for 20) are mentioned only as copied store notices.
  • Much of the coverage looks like commissioned copy. The same sequence — fish brought in every morning and sold out the same day, sesame rice and pickled onion wrapped in laver, an unlimited free banchan bar, high chairs plus microwave — recurs in 11 posts, and two posts placed the identical order. None discloses sponsorship; one admits it was written from materials supplied by the restaurant. Only 3 posts say they paid themselves, one noting there were lots of sponsored posts. The daily-prep claim is the restaurant's own line and we did not count it.
