Euratchacha Udongbu

으랏차차우동부 Euratchacha is the grunt you make heaving something heavy ("heave-ho!") and udongbu means "udon club"; one blogger reads it as a nod to the comic and film title Euratchacha Yudobu, "the judo club".

A house-made udon shop on two floors at Doryeong-ro 30 in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju City, across the main road from the Best Western Jeju. You order udon or a rice bowl at the door, take a tray past a counter of tempura and rice balls, pay at the end, and bus your own tray. In 2026 posts, hot kake udon is 5,900 won, cold bukkake and fried-tofu udon 6,900, gyudon 9,900 regular, raw salmon bowl 13,000, and tempura 1,700-3,000 won apiece. We read 30 posts dated 8 February to 6 October 2026: two were about other restaurants and only linked here, two were not visits (one rewrote the listing, one was a list entry), and 26 describe eating here.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Food comes almost instantly. Five posts said so: one had the bowls before paying, one in under five minutes, another found three bowls waiting after one lap of the tempura counter. No post mentions a queue, and three walked straight in (one at weekday lunch, one around 4:30 pm). But the tempura only goes out from 10 am even though the shop opens at 9, and another early visitor found the tempura not all ready.
  2. Nine posts called it clean, with a concrete reason: three separately pointed out that the kimchi, pickled radish and soy containers on each table are labeled with the date they were portioned, one noting it was the same two years ago. Five mentioned the open kitchen.
  3. Eleven posts found the tempura crisp; one found the chicken tenderloin soggy. Whether it is fried to order is disputed: three said it comes out fresh, two said you take pieces fried in advance, and one said they weren't warm.
  4. Sixteen posts said it is cheap; none said expensive. Two noted udon plus a tempura or two stays under 10,000 won. One called the 13,000-won salmon bowl a bit steep by comparison, and one said shrimp toppings roughly double a bukkake's price. Two said Jeju's local currency, Tamnaneunjeon, is accepted.

  1. Seven posts came with children. Two saw high chairs themselves, and several said the kids ate the noodles well or enjoyed picking their own tempura.

Posts saying you can park3 of 25 posts

Fifteen posts described parking, and most struggled. Three got a space in the small public lot right next door; twelve found it full or tiny and ended up in back alleys, on the street or in a paid lot. One blogger labeled the public lot "98% chance of no space". Several noted there is no dedicated lot.

Getting inside

Second floor13 of 25 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 6 (of 25 posts read)
Ramp at the door1 of 25 posts
Step-free access1 of 25 posts

Seating is on two floors. Thirteen posts mention the upstairs room, but only one clearly ate there, going up because the ground floor was full; another recommends it as the quiet option. Two stayed downstairs because of the stairs, one wary of carrying food up them. One found the second floor dark on a slow day, and one thought only the ground floor is mostly used now.

Only one post covered the entrance: it has a ramp, so strollers and wheelchairs get in easily. Two mention stairs to the second floor; nobody said whether there is a lift. That means no one wrote about it, not that there isn't one.

No visitor wrote about the toilets. Separate men's and women's restrooms appear only in two posts that copied the listing, so we didn't count it.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Step at the entrance · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on staff split two to two. Both negative posts were about first-timers getting no explanation of the ordering system; another said staff looked worn out at dinner and wished newcomers were guided. First time: order your main at the door, and return your tray when done.
  • We don't know how it is by bus. One post names the Wollang village / Namnyeong High School stop as right in front, but nobody said they came by bus. One walked over from the hotel across the street.
  • Opening hours seem to have changed. Thirteen posts through July 2026 gave a 9:30 pm close, eight of them listing Sunday separately as 11 am-10 pm; four posts from August onward say 9 am-8 pm daily with no break. Most of these are copied from the listing; one visitor did eat at 9:05 am, confirming the 9 am opening. Check current hours before going.
  • Prices have gone up. One regular first came because basic udon was 4,900 won; seven 2026 visitors wrote 5,900. Two 2026 posts still list 4,900 won and gyudon at 8,900, but one is a list and one appears to reuse an old menu, so we don't treat them as current. When the rise happened is unknown.
  • Eleven posts gave the same phone number, 0507-1386-0152. No one said whether reservations are taken.
  • Four posts paste the shop's own listing blurb ("over 100 pyeong", "aged over 48 hours"); one of them seems to invent its weather and companions, so we didn't count it as a visit. Claims like 48-hour aging and a hygiene grade come from the shop, so we treat them as copied, not as evidence.
