Biwon
비원 Biwon (秘苑) literally means 'secret garden', the old name for the rear garden of Changdeokgung palace; here the restaurant sits in its own landscaped yard with a carp pond.

A samgyetang house on Sumogwon-gil in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju City, right by Halla Arboretum. The menu is three items — ginseng chicken soup, short-rib soup and stir-fried gizzards — and 10 of the 11 visitors ate the chicken soup. It was 18,000 won through February 2026 and 19,000 won in a July 2026 post. Two posts say the ground floor serves regular diners while the second floor is used for first-birthday parties and wedding receptions; there is a carp pond in the yard. We read 16 posts from August 2025 to October 2026; 2 were about a different shop (a Seoul rice-cake maker) and 11 record an actual meal.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Food comes out almost instantly. Two posts say so — one timed it at 'three seconds after ordering', another called it 'real fast food'. One guessed the pots are kept going for the party bookings.
- Extra side dishes come from a self-serve bar, as five posts note. The default set is kimchi, radish kimchi and green chillies; raw onion is only at the bar — one post says it used to be served at the table. One visitor complained the bar kimchi wasn't properly cut and the water bottles were kept at room temperature.
- Five posts call the room spacious and three mention large windows onto the garden. One says the tables are well spaced, another that it never felt crowded even when busy. Three went as a family or group.
- Six posts describe repeat visits, some yearly. One visitor said they would not return, finding the soup more like chicken porridge and the kimchi poor; another found nothing special about the taste.
1 more
- Four posts call the portions large — one says a single serving feeds a woman and a child, another took leftovers home and reheated them. Three note no gamey smell.

Parking
4 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Four posts confirm on-site parking from their own visit, two of them noting lots both in front and behind; one says an elevator runs from the rear lot up to the dining room. One found it packed around 6 pm on a weekend evening despite its size.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Nobody describes the entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; one post mentions an elevator from the rear parking lot, and that is all.
No post says where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender.
No one mentioned: Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 14 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The chicken soup price has risen: 18,000 won in August 2025 and February 2026 posts, 19,000 won in July 2026. The short-rib soup (15,000) and gizzard (10,000) prices come from a single August 2025 write-up and may be out of date. Three visitors thought it on the pricey side.
- Accounts of the chicken's size differ: three say large, one says small (a size 7–8 bird), one says not especially big.
- Opening hours: all eight visitor posts that list them agree on 10:30–21:00 daily, last order 20:00, but every one is copied from a listing rather than checked. One found the short-rib soup sold out around 6 pm.
- Several posts give the same phone number, 064-712-8899. One visitor was told by phone that reservations are only taken for parties of 10 or more; that is our only source on booking.
- No one wrote about waiting for a table. Posts mention busy weekend evenings and lunchtimes, but nobody says whether there was a queue — we don't know, rather than know there isn't one.
- No one describes arriving by bus; posts only say it is a short walk from Halla Arboretum.
- Company is thinly documented: one family visit and two group meals; none say they came with friends or as a couple. Three brought children.
- Two July 2026 posts format their hours and parking lines identically, suggesting a shared template. The '50 years', 'opened 1968', 'second generation' and halal-certification claims are the house's own or hearsay, so we don't rely on them. One news-roundup post was too long to read through and is not counted.
