Daechun Haejangguk Ihoteu-jeom

대춘해장국 이호테우점 Haejangguk is Korean 'hangover-chasing' soup; Daechun is the family's brand (first shop 1991) and Ihoteu is the beach this branch faces — the posts give no meaning for Daechun itself.

A hangover-soup house on the roadside at 7489 Iljuseo-ro, Jeju City, near Iho Teu beach. Several posts say it is the 'youngest daughter's branch' of the Daechun family chain, opened in 2024; the first shop dates from 1991. There are three dishes: haejangguk at 11,000 won, tripe soup at 12,000 won and boiled beef head at 25,000 won. You order on a kiosk at your table, refill side dishes at a self-serve bar, and pour yourself an iced coffee on the way out. The hours people copy down are 6 am to 3 pm, so many of the posts are breakfast visits. We read 30 posts from October 2025 to October 2026, and 29 of them describe eating here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The iced coffee comes up more often than any detail of the meal: 20 posts mention the slushy coffee you pour yourself near the exit, and several compare it to a coffee ice-pop. One likens it to three sachets of instant coffee in a single cup. On the other side, one writer says it is too sweet to drink and another found it too strong.
  2. Food comes fast: 7 posts say so, one timing its tripe soup at under five minutes. Seven posts also say they ordered on the kiosk at the table, where you can choose to leave out the blood curd or the chili paste.
  3. The bowls are full: 11 posts say the portions are large. One says there is enough tripe to slurp like noodles, another that the solids never seem to run out, and one says a friend could not finish the tripe soup. Twelve posts mention refilling side dishes at the self-serve bar.
  4. No off smell is a recurring point: 7 posts say there is none. Seasoning divides people. One writer found the broth salty enough to add a cup of water twice, found even the free drink too strong, and said they would try the City Hall branch next time. Heat divides too: two posts say it was not spicy, and one says it is too spicy for children.

  1. Waiting depends on when you go. Two posts waited, one on a weekend lunchtime and one about ten minutes at lunch; two walked straight in, one around 11 am on a weekday and one just before closing on a weekday. One post mentions waiting seats inside.

Parking

16 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park16 of 27 posts

There is a dedicated car park in front. Sixteen posts say from experience that parking was easy, and one puts the lot at about 20 cars; another calls it much roomier than other branches'. An October 2026 post says the lot can fill up at lunch, but we could not tell which branch it was describing, so we did not count it.

Getting inside

Nobody says which floor it is on or whether there are stairs. The address says ground floor, but that is the listing, not something a visitor reported.

Only one post describes the way in: it says the 2024 building has no step and looks fine for a wheelchair. That is an observation, not something the writer tried, and no other post mentions a step or ramp at the entrance.

Only two posts mention the toilets: one says they are near the entrance and one says they are clean. Nobody says whether they are separated by sex.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post explains how to get there by bus; writers describe it as 15 minutes by rental car from the airport.
  • The tripe soup's price appears to have gone up. One October 2025 post says both soups cost 11,000 won; seven posts from June 2026 on give 12,000 won for the tripe soup. The earlier figure rests on one post, so we cannot confirm it.
  • The hours come from copied listing blocks: nearly every post gives 6:00 to 15:00, last order 14:30, closed Wednesdays. One post says closed Mondays instead, which looks like the main branch's details; two posts say the other branches close on Mondays while this one stays open.
  • Several posts copy the phone number, 064-748-7456, but none says whether you can book. Some posts say takeaway is available, and two copy a notice that nationwide delivery starts at eight servings.
