Cafe

MANDARINO

만다리노 Mandarino Mandarino is Italian for the mandarin orange — the cafe stands beside its own tangerine orchard, where visitors pick the fruit.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

A large bakery cafe at 585 Hamwa-ro, Jocheon-eup, northeast Jeju. The two-storey building is surrounded by lawns, a pond, a tangerine orchard and pens of small horses, goats and chickens, with a separate playroom building for children. Four posts put it 10-15 minutes' drive from Hamdeok Beach. From menu photos: americano 5,500 won, the tangerine-espresso Mandarino coffee 7,500, mandarin baguette 6,000. Fruit picking usually costs 10,000 won and animal feeding 5,000. Most visitors came with children, ordered drinks and then spent an hour or two in the garden. We read 30 posts dated 18 July to 22 October 2026. Twenty-five describe a visit; four were about other places and one was a listicle.

Rows without a count: 8 of 16 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The children's playroom is a separate building outside the cafe. Eighteen of the 25 visit posts mention it. Three describe a black building with a ball pit and slide, split into infant and toddler zones; one says it is signed as mainly for ages 0-4. Two say it is free for cafe customers. One notes there is no attendant, so parents supervise, and no food or drink is allowed inside; two say you can't take coffee in, but there are seats outside where you can watch through the glass.
  2. Horses, goats and chickens live on the grounds; 18 visit posts mention them. The horses are small ponies, which one writer says makes children less afraid. Feeding costs 5,000 won for a basket of carrots; eight posts did it, and four note the basket is generous. There is no riding: one post says it was suspended because a horse was injured, another family was sent to a riding club nearby.
  3. Opinions on price are split, two to one. One writer was surprised to find a 5,500-won americano at a cafe this big, and another called the 10,000-won picking fee reasonable; one found the menu somewhat pricey. Several posts note that the playroom, picnic sets and props like tangerine hats are free.
  4. Four posts came with a dog and one saw other guests' dogs. Writers say dogs could roam the lawn, and one says staff were kind to her dog. One notes that dogs need a harness or lead and owners should bring waste bags.

Parking

9 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park9 of 25 posts

Parking is ample: all nine posts that describe parking found it easy. One counts about 15 spaces in the main lot and 20-plus in a second lot, with neighbouring lots as overflow; one found plenty of room on a Monday morning; one notes two entrances. Two mention accessible parking bays. Several suggest setting the sat-nav to the cafe's EV charging station; one post counts one charger, another two.

Getting inside

Second floor13 of 25 posts
Toilet inside2 of 25 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 25 posts

Upstairs, floor-to-ceiling windows look over the garden toward the sea. Thirteen posts mention the second floor and ten mention the big windows. Downstairs has stone-barn-style seating and a gift shop; two posts say the upper floor leads to a lookout, and three went up to the roof. One notes you can leave your dishes at a return station upstairs instead of carrying them down.

No post mentions a basement; writers describe only the ground floor, the upper floor and the roof lookout.

Nobody wrote about steps at the entrance or wheelchair access, so we can't say either way. One post found the stairs to the upper floor steep enough to carry a child up, and no post mentions a lift. One family pushed a stroller around the garden.

Two posts put the toilets inside on the ground floor; one adds they are separate for men and women, with a changing table, a child toilet seat and a step stool.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No one arrived by bus. Six posts drove; two, by the same traveller without a car, took a taxi from Hamdeok Beach, about 15 minutes.
  • No post mentions waiting. Four went in the morning, on a weekday or before lunch and found it quiet; one guessed weekends would be busier. Nobody described a peak-time wait.
  • Sixteen posts give the same opening hours, 09:00-20:00 daily with last orders at 19:00, but all copied them from info boxes. Two say the cafe never closes. Brunch hours are split: three posts say 10:00-16:00, two say 09:00-16:00.
  • Six posts give 10,000 won per person for fruit picking, but one September 2026 post paid 5,000, and one October post paid 10,000 for a child plus 5,000 for the adult. Drink prices come from just one menu photo and one other mention of the americano — not enough to estimate a typical spend per person.
  • The phone number 0507-1413-0088 was copied into seven posts. Only one post booked ahead, and that was for fruit picking; nobody reserved a table.
  • Two changes appear in September 2026 posts: a carriage ride described as newly added, and horse riding reported as suspended after a horse was injured, so one family went to a riding club nearby instead.
  • The business is registered as a pub, but no post mentions drinking beer here. One says the ground floor also runs as a pub and another guesses Jeju Beer is sold in the evening — neither writer actually had a drink.
  • Of the 25 visit posts, one says it was a sponsored experience, five say the writer paid, and the rest don't say. Two Daum blog posts read like promotional copy; one of them, a list of several cafes, was not counted.
