Gippeumine Haemultang aen Dolsotbap

기쁨이네해물탕앤돌솥밥 Gippeumi-ne reads as 'Gippeumi's place' (gippeum is the Korean word for joy); haemultang is a seafood hot pot and dolsotbap is rice cooked in a stone pot.

A seafood hot-pot house on Sinbuk-ro, right across from Hamdeok Beach (two posts place it between the U-Top U-Bless and Ebenezer hotels). You boil a pot heaped with whole octopus, abalone, pen shell and crab, add abalone stone-pot rice or grilled mackerel, and finish with ramen in the broth. One October 2026 post lists the hot pot at 65,000 / 75,000 / 85,000 won for small, medium and large and abalone rice at 17,000; a January 2025 post also paid 75,000 for a medium. It opens at 7 a.m., and three posts ate here for breakfast. We read 30 posts dated 7 January 2025 to 20 October 2026; 16 simply repeat the restaurant's own promotional copy and were not counted as visits, leaving 14.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Staff do the cutting at your table. Six of the 14 visit posts say that once the pot boils a server comes over, snips the octopus legs and pulls the abalone and pen shell from their shells — one says you can just sit back. One post had a friend do the cutting instead.
  2. Side dishes are self-serve refills. Five posts say they fetched more themselves or saw a sign saying extra sides are self-service. Several list the basic four: kimchi, cucumber salad, stir-fried zucchini and pickles.
  3. Opinions on price split: two posts found it reasonable for a tourist area given the amount, one said it wasn't worth the money.

The most ordered dish is haemultang (해물탕) — 13 of 14 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 1 (of 14 posts read)

We don't know which floor it is on; posts mention a brick building with a big sign, but none says the floor.

No post mentions a step at the entrance or wheelchair or stroller access; one family visited with a child but said nothing about a stroller.

One post just says the toilet is shared and found that a letdown; we don't know whether it is inside the restaurant or how it is laid out.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 16 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-202 posts in one day
2026-10-192 posts in one day
2026-10-162 posts in one day
2026-10-152 posts in one day
2026-10-142 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Much of the coverage is templated. Sixteen posts from September–October 2026 paste the restaurant's own blurb and a Naver review widget and were not counted; five detailed visit posts from the same weeks share one keyword-stuffed structure, and only one of them discloses payment. Five posts in all disclose a fee; only one, from January 2025, says the author paid.
  • Five posts give the same hours, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., closed Thursdays — though four of them copy an info block and only one says it in its own words. Nobody mentions a break or last order.
  • Nobody describes getting there by bus; posts walk over from the beach but none mentions a stop.
  • No post reports waiting for a table; one says it was crowded, but not whether there was a line or how long.
  • Two phone numbers appear: most posts give 0507-1442-8085, two give 064-782-8085 (one labels it the booking line). No post says it actually booked ahead.
