Ohyeon Bulbaek

오현불백 Bulbaek is short for bulgogi baekban, marinated pork stir-fried with rice and side dishes; none of the posts explains the word Ohyeon.

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

A pork bulbaek house at Seongji-ro 58-2, a short walk from Jeju's Dongmun Market. A pan of marinated pork and mitre squid (17,000 won per person) goes on the burner in the middle of your table and you cook it yourself; frying rice in the leftover sauce is also self-serve. There are four dishes: octopus and pork at 16,000 won, plain pork at 14,000 won (minimum two), and beef bulgogi hotpot at 40,000 or 50,000 won. No post in this period mentions a price change. Rice and seaweed soybean soup come with around ten sides, including marinated crab, which is also sold separately. Nearly every post copies the hours as 10:00 to 21:00, closed Saturdays. We read 30 posts dated 3 August to 22 October 2026; 28 of them record an actual meal.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Seven posts got sides topped up, and in five of them it was the marinated crab. One writer was surprised because most places won't refill crab; another lost count of how many refills they had. Two posts say the kitchen brought their child more rolled omelette.
  2. Five posts note that plain pork bulbaek needs two orders. The two solo diners therefore chose the squid or octopus version, which can be ordered for one. The one who showed a receipt said they never felt awkward eating alone.
  3. Seven posts say the pork had no off smell. On heat, four found it mild, one saying even people who can't handle spice would manage, and one found it quietly hot.
  4. Ten posts call the room spacious: rows of four-seat tables with burners, some of which can be pushed together. Two posts say there are no private rooms.
2 more
  1. Four posts saw high chairs and four went with children. One mentions child-size tableware and a separate bowl of soup for the child; another says the owner picked up their twins for a cuddle.
  2. Nine posts found the service kind. Several say the owner walked the room asking whether any sides needed topping up, and one credits a foreign staff member for keeping the sides coming.

Parking

12 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park12 of 27 posts

Twelve posts describe parking. Several used, or were directed to, a vacant lot beside Café Geudi at Seongji-ro 63, one to two minutes on foot. Two say the space right next to the restaurant fits about one car or is small. One found it full and used the market's public car park, and one parked on the street, believing there was no lot at all.

Where it is

Map showing where Ohyeon Bulbaek is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 27 posts

No post describes the floor from experience. The address says ground floor, and one post notes it sits on a slope near the market.

No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. That doesn't mean there's a problem, only that nobody wrote about it.

One post places the toilet indoors, next to the kitchen. Whether it is split by gender is unclear: two posts copying the map listing say separate toilets, while another's info line says shared. Both are copied information, not something the writers checked.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Only one post mentions waiting, briefly and without a number of minutes. Three were seated straight away: one arrived at opening and was first in, one went early on a weekday evening and found it quiet, and one got a table at lunch even though a tour bus was parked outside. Another says the room filled up quickly at dinnertime, so we don't know how long the wait is at peak times.
  • Almost nobody explains how to get there by bus or on foot, beyond saying it is walkable from Dongmun Market and 10 to 13 minutes by car from the airport. No post names a bus stop.
  • Twenty posts list the hours as 10:00 to 21:00, closed Saturdays, and fourteen give last orders at 20:30. Most of this is copied from the map listing; one post says 22:00. Two posts phoned ahead (064-724-2861) and found the table already set when they arrived.
  • Five posts disclose sponsorship, and twelve carry the same five hashtags in the same order, so we read on the assumption that some promotional copy is mixed in. Only one post says the writer paid, and it includes the receipt.
  • Two regulars compared it with earlier visits and disagree. One who has been coming for ten years says it used to taste better; another, back after a long gap, found it cleaner and the owner far friendlier. No post says the owner changed.
