Jeju Oreum Bapsang

제주오름밥상 Oreum are Jeju's small volcanic cones and a bapsang is a table laid with rice, soup and side dishes — a Jeju table spread named for the hills around it.

Compiled from 21 blog posts read in fullSources →

A large Korean set-meal restaurant at 1220 Bijarim-ro, Gujwa, across from Jeju Donghwa Maeul in Songdang. Today the Oreum set — tilefish, black-pork stir-fry, crab, japchae and namul on one table — is 15,000 won per person, and a boneless hairtail braise set (25,000 won) appears from September 2026. A September 2025 visit paid 11,000 won, and until about May 2026 the set was called the 'holiday set'. We read 30 posts from 26 March to 16 October 2026: 22 describe a visit, 5 only introduce or list the place, and 3 were about other places and set aside.

Rows without a count: 6 of 15 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. It is big and high-ceilinged: 14 of the 22 visit posts call it spacious and 6 mention the high ceiling — one thought it looked like a banquet hall. One June 2026 post disagreed on table spacing, saying the gaps were only wide enough for a serving trolley.
  2. Families dominate: 11 of the 22 visit posts came with children and 11 with family. Several say the children ate most of the tilefish, and one used a high chair. One post notes a braised side dish was mildly spicy and the kids couldn't eat it.
  3. Most found the seasoning mild: seven posts said not salty, one found it a little strong. Three posts got side-dish refills.
  4. One family travelled without a car: they took a taxi from a nearby theme park, paid 30,000 won for two sets with Jeju's local currency (Tamnaneunjeon), and left by bus.

Parking

9 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park9 of 21 posts

There is a dedicated lot in front. Nine posts that parked there found it roomy or easy, and one counted about 30 spaces. Five posts clearly came by car; one missed the entrance, a right turn just before the intersection, and had to U-turn.

Getting inside

Second floor4 of 21 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 21 posts read)
Ramp at the door1 of 21 posts

Four posts mention an upper floor; two say it is not for dining — one calls it a space for photos and resting. No post says they ate upstairs.

One post saw a ramp at the entrance, but nobody actually went in with a wheelchair or stroller. One post notes it is on the ground floor; nobody said whether the upper floor is reached by stairs or a lift.

We don't know about the toilets. One post only heard that the women's is downstairs and the men's upstairs; separate toilets appear only in a copied Naver listing.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-162 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Service reports differ: one post found staff rushed and sometimes unfriendly, with hygiene lacking; another says the owner brought rolled omelette for the children. A third saw several uncleared tables, as if short-staffed.
  • No post reports waiting. Two arrived around 10:40 or before noon to a quiet room that filled with tour groups and families later; weekend queues appear only as hearsay. One post saw waiting chairs. This means nobody wrote about waiting, not that there is never a wait.
  • Only one post used the bus, without naming the stop or walking time; the rest drove or didn't say.
  • Opening hours vary slightly. Fifteen visit posts copied them: fourteen say 10:00–20:00, but a March 2026 post says 18:00 close and two June posts say Sundays close at 18:00. Last order is 19:00 in eight posts and 19:30 in one. A 16:00–17:00 break appears in only one copied listing, while another post says there is no break.
  • Prices have changed: a September 2025 visit paid 11,000 won for the set, and posts from March 2026 say 15,000. One April 2026 post wrote 12,000 won; we couldn't tell which is right.
  • The phone number is 0507-1335-6713. No post made a reservation; the note that groups of ten or more must confirm by phone even after booking online is copied from the restaurant's own listing.
  • Several posts share a template: six open with the same 'Songdang Donghwa Maeul restaurant' headline and repeat the restaurant's own phrases (cooked to order, daily-changing soup, six seasonal sides) without disclosing payment. Eight posts say they paid themselves. The restaurant's own claims, such as daily prep and a receipt-review freebie, were copied text and not counted.
