Halla Chuksan Jeongyuk Sikdang Jeju Bonjeom

한라축산정육식당 제주본점 Halla is Hallasan, Jeju's central mountain; chuksan means livestock, and a jeongyuk sikdang is a butcher-restaurant where you pick and pay for meat at the counter, then grill it at your table.

Compiled from 21 blog posts read in fullSources →

A very large butcher-restaurant at 611 Yeonsam-ro, Jeju City, which posts put 15–20 minutes by car from the airport. You choose black pork or hanwoo at the butcher counter by the entrance, pay for it there, then pay a 4,000-won table charge and grill it yourself over charcoal; black pork was quoted at 6,800 won per 100 g. At lunch there is a separate section for people who skip the grill and order specials such as hanwoo bulgogi or raw-beef bibimbap (9,900 won) and beef soups (7,900 won). We read 30 posts dated 18 February to 27 October 2026, 23 of them from actual visits. We set aside one post about another branch, and did not count three posts from the restaurant's own blog or three with no first-hand experience.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Staff do not grill for you; two posts say so plainly. Visitors describe the same routine of buying meat at the counter and carrying it to the table. One found the walk tiresome from a far table, and one had to ask for the charcoal to be replaced because it was too weak.
  2. Ten posts mention the playroom and five the high chairs. Two copied the rules (age 7 and under; under-36-months with a guardian), and one pointed out no staff member watches the room, so a parent has to go in. Two said the room itself is not large.
  3. Seven posts mention the free self-serve café opposite the dining hall, with plum tea, peach iced tea, americano and lattes. One noted the coffee comes from a machine, not a barista. Two posts said people use it as a waiting area.
  4. Eleven visitors called it cheap or fair; one did not feel it was cheap. Quoted prices: 40,800 won for 600 g of black-pork belly, 53,800 won for 246 g and 61,300 won for 280 g of hanwoo chuck flap. One family of seven spent about 300,000 won on hanwoo alone at a Lunar New Year dinner.

  1. Six posts say side dishes and staff calls go through a tablet or kiosk at the table; many mention fleets of serving robots.

Parking

Posts saying you can park16 of 21 posts

Sixteen visitors said the car park is big. Several also found it full anyway: packed at lunchtime, one space freeing up at 6:30 on a Friday evening, almost nothing left at 7:30 pm. One post noted there is no parking attendant.

Getting inside

Second floor3 of 21 posts
Toilet inside2 of 21 posts
Separate restrooms2 of 21 posts

No post says which floor the dining hall is on. Three mention a photo studio upstairs, but that is not seating.

No visitor said whether the entrance has a step or how it works with a wheelchair or stroller. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is a problem.

Two posts say there are toilets both inside the dining hall and in the outer lobby; two say they are separated by sex. One compared them to airport restrooms, and one noted a baby-changing table.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 6 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waits split four to three. One weekend lunch had five groups ahead and took under 20 minutes; at 5:40 pm on Lunar New Year's Day a family got the last two four-person tables and saw a queue form behind them. Visits at 1 pm on a weekday, 5 pm and 7 pm went straight in. You register on a machine to wait.
  • Opinions on staff split two kind to three not. One family said staff kept opening their private room door without knocking, one said unopened gifts left at the table were thrown away, and one found service curt because it was busy.
  • Nobody took the bus. One post says about 40 minutes by bus or 20 by taxi from the airport, but even that visitor took a taxi; everyone else drove.
  • Thirteen visits were family outings. Only one was with a friend and one with a partner, so we know little about coming as a pair or alone.
  • All opening hours were copied from listings: ten say 11:00–22:00 daily, two (February and October) say 10:00–22:00. Two say there is no closing day. Nobody knows exactly when the lunch specials end; one post only guessed 11 to 3.
  • Four posts put the raw-beef bibimbap at 9,900 won, but one says 9,000 and one menu list shows 12,000 (both October); likely lunch-special versus regular pricing, though the posts don't settle it. One post noted rice is 1,000 won extra with the bulgogi set, making it 10,900 won.
  • Six posts give the phone number as 0507-1440-7017; one gives 064-722-7000, which the restaurant's own blog uses. One post says private rooms need five or more people and a phone booking the day before; others were told bookings were full for a stretch, in one case two days ahead.
  • Two posts say the Nohyeong branch moved here, but other posts from the same months visited the Nohyeong branch, so we treat this as a separate flagship, not a relocation.
