Chamsutgui Monteurak

참숯구이몬트락 Chamsutgui means grilling over hardwood charcoal; Montrak is the name of the house's Jeju pork brand, which one post says also runs a retail shop in eastern Jeju — the posts do not explain the word itself.

Compiled from 12 blog posts read in fullSources →

A charcoal pork grill house occupying a whole building at Imhang-ro 20, at the mouth of Jeju City's Black Pork Street in Geonip-dong. The ground floor is parking, the dining rooms start on the second floor, and staff grill the meat at your table. The most-ordered item is the Montrak set for two — 540 g of five-layer belly, prime neck and bone-in rib for 57,000 won — eaten in five of the fourteen visit posts; kimchi stew (12,000 won) and cold noodles (8,000 won) were the usual sides. We read 30 posts dated July 14 to October 22, 2026, and counted 14 of them as first-hand visits. Fifteen others looked like templated promotional copy and were not counted; one was a voucher listing.

Rows without a count: 4 of 9 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Staff do the grilling — nine of the fourteen visit posts say so. A parent wrote that cooked pieces were moved to the edge of the grill so they could look after the child while eating; another said staff grilled only at the start.
  2. Side dishes are topped up from a self-serve bar, as seven posts noted. One listed lettuce, scallion salad, cabbage, seasoned greens, garlic and ssamjang there; another refilled the anchovy dipping sauce three times.
  3. Nine visit posts called the place large. A group of coworkers who ordered two four-person sets sat at a long group table. One party booked ahead and ate in a private room; one more post mentioned that rooms exist.
  4. Five visit posts came with family and two with groups of colleagues. Of three that brought children, one said staff brought a mild soup for the baby without being asked. Two mentioned high chairs, and one a play room on the third floor.

  1. Writing a receipt review earns a free drink or a plate of pork skin; four posts mentioned it and two of them took the pork skin.

The most ordered dish is Naengmyeon (냉면(물·비빔)) — 5 of 12 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

7 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park7 of 12 posts

Parking is in the building. Seven visit posts saw or used the lot, one describing the ground floor as parking with the restaurant from the second floor up. One visitor didn't know about it and parked in a public lot nearby. Valet parking appears only as hearsay and copied listings, so we did not count it.

Getting inside

Second floor3 of 12 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 2 (of 12 posts read)
Lift to the floor1 of 12 posts

The dining rooms begin on the second floor. Three visit posts ate or went up there, one noting they took the elevator even though it was only the second floor. Nobody described it as below ground.

No one wrote about steps at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; one post mentions taking the elevator. That means it went unrecorded, not that access is lacking.

No visit post described the restrooms. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in a facilities list one post copied from the listing.

No one mentioned: Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 16 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Per a copied menu board, the Montrak sets cost 57,000 won for two (540 g), 83,000 for three (750 g) and 110,000 for four (940 g). Only one post gave a whole bill: a family with kids paid a little over 120,000 won for belly, shoulder-cap and roe rice. Opinions on value split — two posts called it good value, one skipped the sets as a bit expensive.
  • Eight posts give opening hours of 15:00–23:00, some copied from the listing. Three say it closes only on the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays, two say it never closes. One sponsored post's info block says 17:00–01:00 with Mondays off, at odds with everyone else; the 'closed Sundays' in four promotional posts was not counted.
  • Two posts list the phone number as 0507-1463-2300 and one as 064-757-2300. Two visitors booked ahead.
  • Only one post mentioned waiting: they arrived early on a weekend evening, sat straight away, and the room was full by the time they left. Nobody else wrote about queues. One post noted a waiting area by the entrance.
  • No visit post described getting there by bus. Two visitors walked from nearby lodging; claims of easy public-transport access appear only in promotional posts we did not count.
  • Fifteen posts appear to follow templates. Nine share the same seven closing hashtags, three pairs among them nearly word-for-word, and four claim Sunday closures that contradict other posts; six more share another hashtag set and phrasing. We did not count any of them as visits.
