Korean

Gapbu Bossam

갑부보쌈 Gapbu means a very rich man, a tycoon — roughly 'Tycoon Bossam'.

Compiled from 11 blog posts read in fullSources →

A bossam (boiled pork wraps) house on Donam-ro in Jeju City's Donam-dong, near City Hall and Donam five-way junction. Bossam comes small, medium or large; the eutteum set adds fried bites and noodles (set B 75,000 won in May 2025), the beogeum set adds stew and skate salad, and two posts added fermented skate (20,000 won) for samhap. It opens at 3 p.m. The hall is big — three posts were work dinners — and side dishes and soup come from a self-serve corner in the middle. We read 12 posts from January 2025 to May 2026; 11 record a visit (the other is a hygiene-rating list).

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Seven posts say the room is large — 'big enough for any group', one wrote. One found reserved tables taking about half the hall before weekend dinner, with the rest nearly full; another found it noisy because of the groups.
  2. Five posts helped themselves to more side dishes, greens or soup from the self-serve corner; one work-dinner post liked the unlimited vegetables. Two ordered by table kiosk, and two had the bossam brought by a robot.
  3. Three posts call the bossam kimchi sweet. Another noted that low Kakao Map ratings blamed the sweet kimchi, though the writer enjoyed it.

Where it is

Map showing where Gapbu Bossam is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post describes which floor the restaurant is on from experience; only the address says ground floor.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in — nobody wrote about it either way.

No post mentions the toilets — where they are or whether they are separate.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 12 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post describes getting there by bus; one says it is close to the airport and one writer took a taxi.
  • No post reports waiting for a table; one found it nearly full before weekend dinner but did not queue.
  • The only company posts mention are work groups (three posts); none write about going with family or children.
  • Five posts give the same hours — 3 p.m. to midnight, last order 11 p.m., closed the 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesday — mostly copied from info blocks. An older post linked in January 2025 listed 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. and every Tuesday off, so the hours have shortened since.
  • Prices are given only for the sets and the skate; nobody wrote the price of bossam alone. Set B was 75,000 won in a May 2025 post and 72,000 won in a May 2026 list, one post each. Two posts found it on the expensive side.
  • Three posts call the place clean, but one January 2025 writer kept finding bugs on the cabbage leaves and skipped them.
  • Oysters used to be an add-on; by January 2025 one post found them gone, replaced by skate salad. Three posts give the phone number 0507-1338-1265 for bookings.
