Donam Ogeori Sikdang Donam-jeom

도남오거리식당 도남점 Donam Ogeori is the Donam five-way junction in Jeju City that gives the place its name; sikdang simply means restaurant, and Donam-jeom marks this as the Donam branch (there is also an Oedo branch).

A beef grill house in a side street off the Donam five-way junction, not far from Jeju City Hall (16 Donam-ro 6-gil). The anchor is the Hwangso Modum platter: liver and tripe first, then a single board of raw yukhoe, beef sashimi and grilling cuts; two posts from November and December 2025 give the large (1.6 kg) at 112,000 won. Guests grill the beef themselves on a stone plate at the table and finish with fried rice and soybean stew. The restaurant has two floors; eight posts agree on hours of 15:00-23:00, closed Mondays. We read 22 posts dated 9 September 2025 to 22 October 2026, 16 of which describe actually eating here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The meat is not cooked in the kitchen: six posts say they grilled it themselves. There is a sequence. You eat the liver, tripe, yukhoe and sashimi first, and one post says that when you tell staff you are ready to grill, they bring the burner; two others also say the grill comes on request. The plate is stone, served with beef fat wrapped in foil or with butter. One post found the heat too weak for the marinated pork.
  2. Six posts booked ahead or tell you to, and five say they still waited. One booked by phone and still queued 5 to 10 minutes; another arrived at 6:50 on a Saturday to find three groups ahead. A party of ten that booked that morning found the ground floor full and was seated in reserved tables upstairs.
  3. A sweet rice punch arrives at the end of the meal; three posts say it was complimentary, and one calls it the thing they always have here.
  4. Nine posts say it is good value for the money and none calls it expensive. Five say the portions are large, including a couple who found the small grill platter too much for two. One post rated the beef merely fine for the price.

Parking

3 posts say you can park; 2 say you cannot. We leave the disagreement standing rather than picking a side.

Posts saying you can park3 of 15 posts
Posts saying you cannot2 of 15 posts

Parking reports are split. Three posts say there is a lot (one puts it at about seven cars behind the building), while two say parking is hard or there is no lot at all. Even the three that found the lot ended up parking in the side streets because it was small or full; one suggests the nearby public car park and one says a taxi is easiest.

Getting inside

Second floor4 of 15 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 3 (of 15 posts read)

There is seating on the ground floor and upstairs. Four posts describe the second floor, and two say they were sent up when the ground floor was full. Two posts call the room spacious; one found it cramped and very loud.

It is not a basement space: three posts sat on, or found full, the ground floor.

No post mentions a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in, and we do not know whether the second floor is reached by stairs or a lift. That is a gap in the record, not a finding.

No post says where the toilet is or whether it is separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 21 posts we gathered, 6 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post describes getting here by bus or on foot. One bus-detour guide lists the restaurant as a meal option, but its author did not go.
  • Four posts came with family, three with friends or acquaintances, and two in large groups (a staff dinner of eight, a family of ten with children). Nobody came alone.
  • All eight posts give the same hours, 15:00-23:00 and closed Mondays, but they copied them from the listing; none mentions a break or last order. Three posts give the phone number 064-722-4844, and posts say you can reserve by phone.
  • Prices come from posts of different dates. The 112,000-won large Hwangso Modum is from two posts in November and December 2025; the grill-only platter appears once at 57,000 won for the small (November 2025) and once at 84,000 won for the large (October 2026). No 2026 post prices the full platter, so we cannot say whether it has gone up.
  • Many posts call the beef hanwoo, but one read the origin label as domestic beef cattle (yugu), not hanwoo. The Blue Ribbon, Red Ribbon and Good-Price Business signs at the door are the restaurant's own displays, so we did not count them. One post noticed foreign diners.
  • Ordering is described differently by two single posts: one from December 2025 ordered on a tablet, while one from November 2025 found no menu booklet, only a menu on the wall.
