Sammi Hoetjip Jeju Gonghang-jeom

A seafood restaurant facing Dodu harbour across the road, at Dohangseo 5-gil 1 in Jeju City. You eat it as a set: seaweed soup, a seafood plate, sushi, sashimi, iron-plate pork, ginseng chicken soup, abalone-gut fried rice, fritters and spicy fish stew arrive in turn. Prices diners paid: lunch special 70,000 won for two or 100,000 for three to four, two-person special 140,000, Sammi Special 190,000, large sea-bream platter 250,000. We read 14 posts dated 18 May to 19 October 2026: 12 ate there, 1 took food away, and 1 used the restaurant only as a landmark.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Five posts said the food was plentiful; one called what followed the sashimi a 'food assault'. But a diner who paid 250,000 won for the sea-bream platter wrote that the sashimi itself was smaller than expected and it was the side courses that filled them up. This is a place for a long spread, not a mountain of raw fish.
  2. One post called it expensive and one stopped short of a verdict. The first noted the cheapest dinner set is 110,000 won for two; the second said you pay for the sea view but found the 100,000-won lunch special good value. Lunch is the way in on a budget.
  3. Three posts came with children. One family said staff brought the samgyetang ahead of schedule for their child; another was not charged for an extra bowl of rice. High chairs appear only in a copied info block, so we have not relied on it.
  4. Two posts said food came quickly — the first seafood plate in under five minutes — though one added the whole course takes around two hours.

Parking

Posts saying you can park2 of 12 posts

Two diners parked and both describe a small lot beside the building: room for about two cars, with most people parking on the street; one found a car taking two spaces and was told by phone to park on the road. A third post's 'spacious parking' sits next to a copied info block, so we did not count it.

Getting inside

Second floor7 of 12 posts

Seven posts sat upstairs or mentioned a second floor; one described three floors in all, and several said the sea view is best from the second. Two said the upstairs is divided into rooms, but one of them found guests packed into the room nearest the kitchen — no privacy and quite loud.

Posts mention seating on the first and second floors (one says up to a third), but none says whether you climb stairs or take a lift.

No one wrote about a step at the entrance or wheelchair and pushchair access. That means unknown, not absent.

Nobody described where the toilets are or whether they are separated by sex.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 13 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post mentions waiting. One family booked for 6 pm; another walked in on a weekday afternoon after asking. Nobody wrote how long a busy evening wait might be.
  • No post explains a bus route. Several say it is about ten minutes by car from the airport; one group walked about 20 minutes from Iho Tewoo beach.
  • Six posts give the same opening hours, 11:00 to 22:30 daily, but all inside copied info blocks. None mentions a break, last order or closing day.
  • Two phone numbers appear: 0507-1469-6403 in four posts and 064-713-6400 in one. One post advises booking through Naver and then confirming by phone.
  • Prices held steady from May to October 2026, with one mismatch: two diners paid 250,000 won for the large sea-bream platter, while the menu one post copied lists the sea-bream platter at 220,000 and the special platter at 250,000. Another diner recalled the Sammi Special as about 200,000 won, against 190,000 on the menu.
