A kalguksu shop at 44 Chuja-ro, right by Sangchuja port on Chujado. It now serves abalone kalguksu (11,000 won), octopus kalguksu (13,000 won), spicy stir-fried octopus (25,000 won) and a giant rolled omelette (20,000 won). In May 2026 a post said plain kalguksu at 8,000 won was the only dish; the longer menu appears from August. We read 3 posts, May to October 2026, all from people who ate there.

What sets it apart

  1. Easy on foot from the ferry. One post put it right in front of Sangchuja port and walked from their lodging; another said it is under 100 m along the main road from the Olle route 18-2 finish at the visitor center.
  2. The giant omelette is big: a party of three nearly couldn't finish even the half portion the owner made for them at 10,000 won.
  3. Side dishes are self-serve: one post described a corner to take more banchan and free rice from a warmer; an October post also said the sides were self-serve.
  4. There is outdoor seating: a solo diner in October found the room full, ate at an outside table, and only later realised it was the smoking spot.

Getting inside

No post described the floor from experience; the address says ground floor, but nobody wrote about it.

Nobody mentioned a step at the entrance or wheelchair or stroller access. We don't know.

Nobody mentioned where the toilet is or whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • No post reports a wait; one October visitor found the room full and simply took an outside table.
  • Company is split: one post went alone, one went as three. Too few to say who the place suits.
  • Opening hours come from two copied info blocks: both say 08:00-22:00, closed every other Thursday (2nd and 4th). Only one lists a 15:00-17:00 break. These are listed, not observed, hours.
  • Each price comes from a single post. The 8,000-won plain kalguksu in May and the 11,000-won abalone version in August are different dishes, so this is not a price rise.
  • No post gave a phone number or said whether reservations are taken.
