Jeju Tammong
제주탐몽 Jeju is the island's name; no post explains what Tammong means.
Compiled from 13 blog posts read in fullSources →
Jeju Tammong is a charcoal black-pork grill on the second floor of a building in Beophwan-dong, Seogwipo, with a butcher's shop on the ground floor. Black-pork belly and neck cost 21,000 won per 200 g, regular pork 17,000 won; the anchovy dip comes with bracken in it and is simmered on the grill, and meals finish with cold noodles or brisket soybean stew. Several posts mention tables of local diners holding work dinners. We read 16 posts dated November 2024 to September 2026; 13 describe an actual visit, and the other 3 are city holiday-opening lists.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Six posts say a steamed egg arrived free of charge; in one, the owner brought it because the table had rice but no soup. One November 2024 post, however, paid 3,000 won for it, so it isn't guaranteed to be free.
- Six posts say the owners and staff were kind. Two say the owner grilled for them — once to start, or nearly all of it when the guests looked unsure. Two posts got side dishes topped up on request.
- Four posts call the meat juicy and three say it had no gamey smell. The claim that quality comes from the downstairs butcher's shop is something posters were told, so we don't count it.
- Four posts say the prices are fair. Two diners paid 70,000 won for three portions of black pork, two rice and a noodle dish; another couple paid 57,000 won for two portions of belly, cold noodles and two bottles of soju. No post called it expensive.
1 more
- Of the visits, three were with family, three with a partner, two with friends and one solo; the solo diner noted that single portions were accepted. Two posts are by repeat local customers.

Parking
6 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Six posts describe the parking first-hand, all as spacious — a large private lot in front of the building. Some visitors walked from nearby lodgings instead (15 and 20 minutes).

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Second floor | 5 of 13 posts |
|---|---|
| Lift to the floor | yes 0 · no 1 (of 13 posts read) |
Five posts say the dining room is upstairs, and one notes there is no lift, so it is stairs only. Five posts call the hall spacious with tables well apart, and one mentions sea views through large windows.
No post mentions a basement; five posts place the restaurant on the second floor.
No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. One post notes the second-floor dining room has no lift.
No one wrote about the toilets — whether they are inside or separated by gender. That is unknown, not absent.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 16 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Only two posts mention waiting, and they differ: one waited about 10 minutes around 8:30 pm when local groups filled the room; the other had no wait at all. No one described a waiting area.
- Nobody described getting there by bus. Visitors walked from nearby lodgings or drove (about four minutes from the World Cup Stadium), and one said the approach feels a little eerie after dark.
- Six posts give the same opening hours, 11:00–22:00 daily, and five add that it closes on the first and third Wednesday of each month — but all except one copy this from a listing. No one mentions a break time or last order.
- The phone number 0507-1405-9956 appears in five posts. One copied listing says reservations are possible and another advises groups to call ahead, but no post describes actually booking.
- Three of the 16 posts are reposted city lists of restaurants open over the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays; we did not count them as visits.
