Noodle houseKorean

Jeoji Myeonok Gujeju-jeom

저지면옥 구제주점 Jeoji is the village in western Jeju (named for its paper-mulberry trees) where the original shop stands, myeonok means a noodle house, and Gujeju-jeom marks this as the branch in old downtown Jeju City.

A buckwheat-noodle house on Gusan-ro in Ara-dong, Jeju City, tucked behind the street opposite Megabox Ara. It is the company-run second branch of Jeoji Myeonok from Jeoji village, soft-opened in June 2026. Perilla-oil soy goldong noodles and pure-buckwheat cold noodles are 15,000 won, spicy buckwheat noodles 15,900 won, Korean-beef gomtang 13,000 won, with a half plate of boiled pork (11,000 won) and a hot pot the original shop does not serve. We read 24 posts from June 14 to October 13, 2026, set aside 2 about the original shop or another restaurant, and 19 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Posts treat it as a place for children: 4 mention high chairs, and 4 went with children (a 4-year-old, a 13-month-old, a school-age niece, two kids). Free baby gomtang for under-36-month-olds comes up repeatedly; the parent of the 13-month-old found the broth a little salty and thinned it with water. One post notes a microwave for warming baby food.
  2. Seasoning divides people. Two posts found it salty: a family on the evening of September 26 added hot water to the gomtang and found both noodle dishes strongly seasoned, and a June pre-opening visitor called the gomtang broth salty. Others said the goldong noodles arrived well seasoned without extra soy. Several posts mention house soy sauce and kelp vinegar on the table for adjusting to taste.
  3. Over the four months we read, lines were short. Three posts walked straight in, two of them around 6 p.m. on a weekend. A visitor at 12:40 on a Sunday waited only while a table was cleared. No post describes waiting at a weekday lunch.
  4. You order from a device at the table: three posts mention it, one calling it a prepaid table order and two a kiosk. Side dishes, scissors and plates come from a self-service bar (3 posts on refilling sides there), and 3 posts note warm buckwheat tea and noodle water there too. An early-July post found ordering a bit confused in the opening weeks.

  1. Views on price split one each: one post calls it on the expensive side, one says it is cheap enough to order several dishes, and one says it may seem pricey but the ingredients justify it.

Parking

11 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park11 of 17 posts

Parking is rarely a worry: 11 posts parked or say you can, and 8 of them call the lot large. One post disagrees — the lot is shared with neighbouring shops, so spaces looked scarce at lunch. Another arrived at 12:40 on a Sunday to find it full.

Where it is

Map showing where Jeoji Myeonok Gujeju-jeom is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No visitor described which floor the shop is on; only the address says ground floor.

No one mentioned a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — that means we don't know, not that there is a problem.

No post says where the restroom is or whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 20 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices may have risen once. The June 18 pre-opening post lists cold noodles at 14,000 won and gomtang at 12,000; from late August the noodles are 15,000 and in September the gomtang 13,000. With only one earlier post, we cannot tell a pre-opening price from a real increase. A meal runs about 15,000 won per bowl.
  • Eight posts give the same hours: 11:00-20:00 with a 16:00-17:00 break; four add last orders at 19:30 and five a Tuesday closure. Most of these are copied into the post's info header.
  • Two posts give 0507-1340-0692 and one gives 064-757-0411. No post says whether reservations are taken.
  • No post arrived by bus or on foot. It is described as opposite Megabox Ara, in a building set back from the road but with a large sign, about 20 minutes' drive from the airport.
  • Some posts were not counted: a rental-car company's list of four new restaurants and a table-order installer's write-up about fitting 20 tablets. The shop's own claims of 100% Jeju buckwheat and all-domestic ingredients are treated as quoted, not verified.
