Sagye Jeonbok

사계전복 Sagye is the seaside village in Andeok-myeon where the restaurant stands, and jeonbok means abalone.

Compiled from 12 blog posts read in fullSources →

Sagye Jeonbok sits at 207 Sagye-ro in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo, right below Sanbangsan. The signature dish is abalone stone-pot rice (13,000 won): you scoop it into a bowl with margarine and a soy-based sauce, then pour hot water into the pot to finish with scorched-rice soup. There is a two-person B course (60,000 won) and a four-person A course (120,000 won) that bundle the rice, hotpot, grilled abalone and mackerel. It opens at 8 a.m., and many posts went for breakfast. We read 13 posts from 5 September to 23 October 2026, and all 13 visited.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Abalone porridge is cheaper from 8 to 10 a.m. Two posts mention it: one paid the 10,000-won breakfast price instead of the usual 13,000, and the other saw the breakfast-special sign at the entrance.
  2. Big windows look out on Sanbangsan. Six posts mention them. One said windows on three sides mean the mountain is visible from any seat, and another ate at a window table facing it.
  3. Nine posts called the dining room spacious. One noted four- and eight-person tables, and one said the tables were well spaced and it didn't feel crowded. Seven posts went with family (parents, in-laws or children), and one went as a group of four.
  4. Four posts brought children. Three noted high chairs, and one said child-sized tableware was also provided. One wrote that a child who usually avoided abalone ate the stone-pot rice and mackerel happily.
2 more
  1. Four posts said portions were generous. One said two hotpots were enough for four people, and another found the rice ample once scooped out.
  2. Four posts said nothing tasted fishy, three of them about the grilled mackerel and one about the abalone rice.

Getting inside

No post described the floor from experience; only the address says ground floor.

Nobody mentioned steps at the entrance or wheelchair or stroller access. That means we don't know, not that there's a problem.

Nobody said where the toilets are. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in one copied info block.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • One post disagreed on flavour. A visitor on 8 September 2026 found the porridge unremarkable and the rice familiar, gave revisiting two stars, and said what stuck was the 8 a.m. opening and the 10,000-won porridge, not the taste.
  • Ten posts listed opening hours, all copied into info blocks: 08:00-20:00 in nine (one says 8:20), a 16:00-17:00 break in eight, and last orders at 19:00 in five. The monthly closing day is split: second Wednesday in five posts, third Wednesday in three, with the dates interleaved, so it doesn't look like a change. Check before a Wednesday visit.
  • Five posts repeat the same lines: the restaurant runs its own abalone farm, side dishes are made fresh daily, mackerel is free for two or more, plus identical drive times to nearby sights. These read as the restaurant's own claims, so we didn't treat them as evidence.
  • No post described getting there by bus; all give drive times, two or three minutes from Sanbangsan.
  • No post mentions waiting. One arrived around 9 a.m. to find diners already eating, but didn't queue.
  • Two posts copied the phone number, 064-792-3335. Reservations appear only in copied info, plus one post's note that groups get faster service if they book. No post actually made a reservation.
