ZEN HIDEAWAY
젠하이드어웨이 제주점 Jen Haideueowei Jeju-jeom Zen Hideaway is an English-made name — 'zen' for calm and 'hideaway' for a secluded retreat; the restaurant shares its seaside site with the company's resort.

Zen Hideaway Jeju is an Italian-and-Thai restaurant right on Sagye Beach in Andeok, Seogwipo, looking out at Sanbangsan, Yongmeori Coast and the Hyeongje islets. It shares the site with the company's resort, so resort guests check in and eat breakfast here too. People come for half-and-half wood-fired pizza, pasta, curry crab with garlic fried rice and stir-fried morning glory, dipping the complimentary garlic bread into the squash cream soup. Posts list the half-and-half pizza at 28,000 won, morning glory at 16,000, a glass of wine at 9,000, and curry crab at either 42,000 or 54,000; one couple paid 141,000 won for a meal built around a lobster-and-tenderloin plate. We read 30 posts dated 23 July to 22 October 2026, 22 of them from people who actually ate here. We set aside two posts about the separate Yongdam branch in Jeju City and two where the name only appeared as a link, and did not count four list or promo posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Nine posts describe the sea through big windows — Sanbangsan and Yongmeori Coast to one side, the Hyeongje islets ahead. One says every seat faces the sea; another visited in sea fog and saw nothing. One local wrote that islanders don't bother sitting by the window.
- Four posts went out onto the deck in front of the restaurant; on a clear day Hallasan shows up behind Sanbangsan, and paths lead down to the beach and the coastal trail. A post from 14 August 2026 found the path from the restaurant closed because of strong wind.
- Eight posts call something spicy: the volcano pasta, the chilli/curry crab, the peperoncino-salami pizza, the green-mussel stew and the abalone crocante pasta. One post found the curry crab not very hot, so opinions on the crab differ. A family with a toddler split their pizza into a mild half and a spicy half.
- Three posts brought children. All three were given high chairs or plastic children's tableware; one family noted two kids on their Naver booking and the restaurant rang ahead to ask whether they needed plastic dishes. Two families were seated in a private room and found it easier with the kids.
3 more
- Three posts found something too sweet — two of them the squash soup, one the crème brûlée. Far more posts praised the soup, but its sweetness is not to everyone's taste.
- Eight posts were couples, two of them celebrating a birthday. There are also family visits with toddlers or parents, and one group of friends.
- Two posts say resort guests get 20% off at the restaurant — both by the same writer about the same September stay.

Six posts parked in the lot, and five of them called it large. It is shared by the resort, café and restaurant; one post warns the turn-off from the Sagye coast road is a small lane that's easy to miss without following the signs, and another saw a group arrive in separate cars with room to spare.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Second floor | 9 of 22 posts |
|---|---|
| Lift to the floor | yes 0 · no 2 (of 22 posts read) |
Most of the dining happens upstairs. Nine posts ate on, or described, the second floor. Others describe the ground floor as a wine bar, a shelf of branded goods and the resort's check-in counter; a post from 14 August 2026 says the writer had eaten downstairs on an earlier trip but this time the ground floor seemed to be cleared and used for waiting. A September resort guest passed on, as hearsay, that the ground floor is open to everyone and the upper floor to hotel guests only.
Two posts say there is no lift, but both are about the resort's room block, where staff carried luggage up to second-floor rooms — not about the restaurant building.
Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. The dining room is mostly upstairs and posts only mention taking the stairs; none says whether the restaurant has a lift.
Nobody described the restaurant's toilets. One post carries a line saying they are separate for men and women, but it was copied from the listing, so we didn't count it.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- One post mentions waiting: on 14 August 2026, without a booking, they were told about ten minutes and took a walk, and saw people sitting downstairs waiting. No other post talks about waiting — which means nobody wrote about it, not that there is never a wait.
- Two posts booked ahead and both were given a private room; one booked through Naver. Six posts give the restaurant's phone number as 064-794-0133; some list the resort's 064-794-0188 instead.
- No post arrived by bus. One mentions the Sagye Yonghae senior-centre stop, but as copied directions, so we didn't count it. Visitors came by car, and one resort guest by taxi.
- On price, two posts found it expensive (one singled out the morning glory; another called its 141,000-won meal the priciest of the trip) and one said it didn't feel costly. The curry crab is 42,000 won in a post from 14 August 2026 and 54,000 won in one from 28 August; we don't know whether that is a seasonal crab price or an increase.
- Twelve posts give opening hours: eleven say 11:00–21:00, one says 11:00–19:00, and nine add a last order at 20:00 — all copied from the listing or the in-room guide. No post mentions a closing day. Guest breakfast is 9–10 a.m. in two posts and 10–11 a.m. in one.
- Eight posts between 23 July and 28 August 2026 follow one template: the same Sanbangsan–Yongmeori–Hyeongje framing, the same 'holy ground of squash soup' line, dinner courses and the new Yongdam branch, near-identical orders (curry crab, half-and-half pizza, morning glory, garlic rice, a glass each of red and white), four with identical hashtags and two with identical titles. Only one discloses a free meal voucher. They record real meals, so we counted them, but they make up a large share of the numbers above.
- There is a separate Zen Hideaway Yongdam branch at 456 Seohaean-ro in Jeju City, a third-floor restaurant 10–15 minutes from the airport. Posts about that branch were set aside even when tagged with the Sagye address. From resort-stay posts we counted only what happened in the restaurant.
