바당칼국수 Badang is Jeju dialect for the sea, and kalguksu is knife-cut noodle soup.

Compiled from 5 blog posts read in fullSources →

A bomal (Jeju sea-snail) noodle soup restaurant on Nandeureu-ro in Daepyeong-ri, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo, facing the sea by the Baksugijeong cliffs. It opened in April 2026 in the former Mungwooju ocean-view cafe; one post says the exterior and garden stayed while the interior and menu changed. Bomal kalguksu is 12,000 won and sea-urchin seaweed soup 18,000 won, and three posts say it opens at 8 a.m., so many visitors went for breakfast. We read 8 posts from April 11 to October 13, 2026; five are first-hand visits, two are about other businesses (the previous cafe and the neighboring Cafe Lucia), and one is a line in a list.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The sea is seen through glass: two posts described the windows, one calling them full-height glass walls with the sea beyond. One post said the building has a rooftop deck, and three mentioned the front garden with a swing.
  2. Two posts said high chairs are available. Both also said writing a review gets you free ice cream; one family's child got green-tea ice cream.

Two posts described parking from experience: one said there are plenty of spaces, the other parked near the coastal road and walked up. A 'private parking lot' line copied from a listing was not counted.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 5 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 5 posts

Two posts said the restaurant spans two floors, and both called it spacious; one said there is enough seating for a group.

No post said whether the entrance has a step or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in, nor how you reach the second floor. That means we don't know, not that there is a problem.

One post described the restroom: inside the building, separate for men and women, with a bidet.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 6 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post described getting there by bus; visitors who mentioned travel came by car along the coastal road.
  • Only one post mentioned waiting: arriving around 9 a.m., they were the first customers. Nobody wrote about lunch or dinner, so we don't know about queues then. A 'waiting area' note was copied from a listing.
  • Two posts went with family and one with a party of four. Nobody went alone or as a couple, so we can't speak to that.
  • Three posts copied the opening hours. All agree it opens at 8 a.m. and closes Thursdays; two say it closes at 7 p.m., one at 7:30. Two posts said it closes early when ingredients run out.
  • One post gave a meal total: about 30,000 won for a family's bomal noodles, black-soy noodles and dumplings. No post called it expensive or cheap.
  • Three posts gave the same phone number, 064-792-2684. Nobody said whether reservations are taken; one advised calling ahead in the late afternoon.
  • One post found the owner very kind; an April post said the owner served the food and left, so they couldn't order more.
  • Posts from before April 2026 describe the Mungwooju cafe that used to occupy the site; its drinks, cakes and dog-friendly claims are not this restaurant's and were not counted.
