Noodle houseKorean

Myeongongjang

면공장 Myeon-gongjang means 'noodle factory' — the ceiling is hung with strands made to look like drying noodles.

Compiled from 8 blog posts read in fullSources →

A black-pork noodle soup house at 478 Eorimbi-ro, Aewol, directly across from Arte Museum Jeju. You order at a kiosk or the counter, collect your tray when your number comes up, and help yourself to side dishes at a self-serve bar. The one post that gave a full price had the pork noodle soup at 10,000 won; several ate it for 5,000 won with the Jeju Tour Pass, which takes 5,000 won off each dish. We read 10 posts from 21 August to 13 October 2026. Eight describe an actual meal; one is a single line in a restaurant list, and one is an Arte Museum review that we set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Five posts mention a discount. Four used the Jeju Tour Pass, which takes 5,000 won off each dish, paying 5,000 won for pork noodle soup, 6,000 for spicy mixed noodles and 3,000 for dumplings. The fifth got 10% off through the Nowda QR check-in, but had to order at the counter rather than the kiosk to show the discount screen.
  2. Five posts call the dining room large. Several thought it would suit groups, and a party of six watched staff set up tables for a booked group. One early-September visitor found the big room nearly empty.
  3. Five posts came with children. Two say the kids were fascinated by the noodle-like strands hanging from the ceiling, and pork cutlet and dumplings were mentioned as child-friendly picks. One post saw high chairs in person; two others only copied 'high chairs' from a listing.
  4. Opinions split on gaminess, one to one: one post found neither the pork nor the broth gamey, while another gave up partway because of the pork smell.

Where it is

Map showing where Myeongongjang is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post says which floor the restaurant is on or whether there are stairs; the '1st floor' in the address comes from the listing.

We don't know whether the entrance has a step or works for wheelchairs and strollers. That doesn't mean it doesn't; nobody wrote about it.

We don't know whether the toilet is inside the restaurant. Two posts copy 'separate men's and women's toilets' from the listing.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 9 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The noodles split two to two: two posts found them springy, two found them soft or unremarkable. One post says they are corn noodles.
  • All the opening hours we have were copied from listings. An August 2026 post gives 10:00–20:00 daily; two September posts give 10:00–19:00 with last orders at 18:00. The hours seem to have changed in between, but nobody confirmed them on site, and no post mentions a closing day.
  • Only one post gives full prices: 10,000 won for the pork noodle soup and 15,000 for the turban-shell noodles. Every other price is after the Tour Pass discount, so we know little about what a meal costs without it.
  • The phone number 064-799-2969 and the note that bookings are accepted were copied from listings; no post describes making a reservation.
  • No post describes waiting. One early-September visitor found the place empty; another found it busy enough to feel like a motorway service area. Nobody gave a waiting time.
  • No post arrived by bus; everyone who described getting there came by car.
  • Many posts pair the restaurant with Arte Museum, and one post received a free meal voucher. Several present it as a Tour Pass discount spot, so most comments on value are based on discounted prices.
