Gwaknaru
곽나루 Naru is an old Korean word for a ferry landing, and Gwak echoes Gwakji, the village and beach the restaurant sits beside; none of the posts explain the name.

Gwaknaru is a hairtail restaurant on Gwakji 11-gil in Aewol, Jeju, right by Gwakji Beach. Ordering a set brings braised or grilled hairtail with a table of sides (seasoned raw fish, boiled pork, pork cutlet, a grilled fish) and pot rice, and many posts finish by pouring water into the pot to make nurungji. Listed prices: signature braised hairtail for four 132,000 won, grilled hairtail for four 119,000 won, the Gwaknaru Special 190,000 won for four or 120,000 won for two. Several posts say staff or the owner deboned the grilled fish at the table. We read 30 posts dated June 3 to October 15, 2026; 15 of them record an actual meal.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The room is large: nine of the ten posts that talk about the space call it spacious. One notes the restaurant takes up a whole building; a party of eight split into two tables of four, braise fans and grill fans. One weekday 1 p.m. visit found about three tables occupied, theirs included.
- Window seats face the sea: three posts ate watching the Gwakji coast. One evening visitor warns that the low sun was strong enough that the blinds came down.
- The braise leans spicy: six of the seven posts that describe the taste call it hot, one noting it builds as you eat. One post differs, saying it was mild enough for a child. Two describe it as sweet-spicy.
- Five posts came with children. Parents mention feeding them the pork cutlet side and the self-serve seaweed soup; one notes a high chair. One says writing a photo review earned the kids a bead ice cream.
1 more
- No post reports a wait. Two posts, a weekday 1 p.m. visit and a Sunday 7 p.m. visit, say they walked straight in. Nobody wrote about weekend lunch or a busy dinner rush.

Parking
7 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

There is a dedicated lot in front: seven posts parked there and found it roomy, one describing space for dozens of cars. The often-quoted figure of 30 spaces comes from copied listing info, so we do not rely on it.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Step at the entrance | 1 of 15 posts |
|---|
None of the visit posts says which floor the dining room is on. The address's ground-floor note is listing data; one post only mentions going up to a café on an upper floor of the same building afterwards.
Only one post describes the way in: a few small steps up to the entrance. No post mentions getting in with a wheelchair or stroller, or a ramp. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is none.
Nobody says whether the restroom is inside. One post found it clean with mouthwash provided; the separate men's and women's restrooms appear only in copied listing info.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 27 posts we gathered, 12 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- One post that ordered both a braise set and a grill set says the braise came quickly but the grilled fish arrived late. Only one post says this.
- Many posts are templated. Nine posts from September 15 to 21, 2026 repeat the same keywords about a big parking lot, fresh ingredients and group seating, with no prices, party sizes or times, so we did not count them as visits. Two rockfish-set posts from June 9 to 10 share another template and were also left out. Two June 8 to 12 posts share a title pattern but give prices and specific dishes, so they were counted.
- Eight posts list opening hours: seven say 10:00 to 21:00, one says 10:00 to 22:00. Two say there is no regular closing day. All of these are copied listing details, not times anyone checked.
- Prices are per set and scale with party size: signature braise 66,000 won for two and 132,000 for four, grilled hairtail 119,000 for four, the Special 190,000 for four and 120,000 for two. No post reports a price change. Two posts call it fair value and none call it expensive. Nobody gives a price for eating alone.
- No post arrived by bus. Every visit was by rental or private car, about 30 minutes from the airport or Jeju City. Nobody describes a public-transport route.
- Five posts give the phone number 0507-1326-9093, all copied from listing info. No post tried calling to book; one only guesses that reservations are possible.
