Jadam Chikin Incheon Simingongwon-yeokjeom

자담치킨 인천시민공원역점 A franchise fried-chicken shop and beer house in a ground-floor parade in Juan-dong, with a room to sit in, open until midnight and closed Wednesdays.

Data as of · Published ·

Jadam Chicken, Incheon Simin Gongwon Station branch, is a fried-chicken shop on the ground floor of a medical building in Juan-dong, Incheon. It is a franchise outlet, licensed in July 2024. It is a beer house as much as a chicken shop — the licence says so, it pours draught and sells bottled beer and soju, and one writer came on a weekday evening simply for a drink. It is not a delivery-only operation: there is a room to sit in, and one regular found the place precisely because he wanted somewhere to sit and his usual chain had no such branch nearby. Three in the afternoon until midnight, closed on Wednesdays — four posts say so identically. Chicken runs ₩23,000 to ₩37,500, with sides like rice cakes or a seven-inch pizza at ₩6,000 to ₩6,500. We have only five posts to go on, and why that is, is set out below. They run from November 2024 to February 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. One writer found this place because it had somewhere to sit. The December 2025 regular puts it plainly: at home he orders from one chain, and when he wants to eat chicken *out* he comes here, because the chain he orders from has no branch nearby with a room in it. He came by accident and stayed, he says, every couple of months since. What he saw was plenty of tables and a shop fairly wide for a neighbourhood chicken place — wide enough that he would book it himself if he were organising the office party. The November 2024 writer independently notes the tables and that most people around her had come in groups or as families. Two writers arrived at the same use for the place: chicken you eat sitting down. Neither counts the seats.
  2. Three posts call the chicken crisp, and all three reach for the same reason: it was eaten where it was fried. The regular credits clean oil — nothing sodden, still hot, visibly glossy. The March 2025 writer concludes that chicken has to be eaten out; it is a taste she knows, but straight from the fryer it is another thing. And yet the takeaway post says the same — collected and eaten at home in December 2024, and crisp enough on sight that she recommends that particular chicken to anyone who wants the crunch-and-moisture contrast done properly. Nobody reports soggy batter. One writer adds that the seasoned varieties are not stinted on the seasoning.
  3. Sit down and a free spread arrives; take the food away and it does not. Two posts inventory it and they agree: a plate and tongs and cutlery each, a cabbage salad that comes already dressed, pickled radish, puffed-rice crackers, and three sauces — sweet chilli, mustard, salt. Order the whelk-and-noodle salad and a plastic glove comes too, for tossing it. Two writers single out the crackers, both confessing to emptying the bowl without meaning to. The writer who took her order home is the one who names the difference: the salad only comes if you eat in, which is why she intends to come back and sit down — she has a weakness for that old-fashioned dressed cabbage. Water is self-service, from a cooler with ice, according to two posts.
  4. Several things on the board are hot, and one writer troubles to place them against each other. Ordering the middle-hot chicken in March 2025, she calls it spicy but not lopsided, good enough that she means to order nothing else here again. Her yardstick is the hotter chicken at the same shop, which she found punishing to eat much of, where this one keeps you going. One post copies out a board listing five different hot varieties, but nobody records eating the hottest of them here — and the writer who remembers it does not say at which branch. Nobody reports being defeated by the heat.
  5. There are two big screens, and what is on them is not sport. The regular, in December 2025: two large screens, usually showing music videos, which he likes — and when he was last in, a looping shot of a chimney with a fire going. The same post is warm about the Christmas decorations, reading them as a sign that somebody cares about the room. If you expect a match on the screen in a chicken shop, this may not be that — though only one writer mentions the screens, and nobody has written about being there on a match day.
  6. It takes the Incheon local-currency card. One writer, in March 2025, ticks it off in her list of practicalities. She is the only one who mentions it and does not say she paid with it. It is a useful line for anyone living in Incheon, so we record it — but it is one person's note from 2025, and we have not confirmed it still holds.

Parking

Posts saying you can park1 of 4 posts

The two posts that discuss parking contradict each other — but only one of them went and looked. In December 2025 the regular, who comes every couple of months, says there is room for one or two cars in front of the shop. In December 2024 another writer says the opposite, with exclamation marks: no parking, and the kerb outside is a no-stopping zone because of fire equipment, so you must stop somewhere else to collect your order. Emphatic — but she labels the image above it as taken from street view, and she never went to the shop at all; her husband collected the food. So we have left her parking out of the count. Nobody has actually driven there. The fire equipment and the one-or-two spaces may well describe the same stretch of kerb — the space may be exactly what you are not supposed to park in — so if you are driving, have somewhere else in mind. No post says where the public car parks are.

Getting inside

Second flooryes 0 · no 1 (of 4 posts read)
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 4 posts read)

It is at street level. A December 2024 post states that the shop is on the ground floor, and all five check-ins give the same unit number in the building. The licence records it as units 101 and 102 on the ground floor of a medical centre — a shopfront under a building with a clinic in it. One writer places it between two apartment complexes; the setting is a parade of shops between housing and the hospital rather than a restaurant street. No post mentions a step or a stair — that it is at ground level is as far as we can go.

Not one post says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair can get in. Across five posts there is nothing about a step at the door, a ramp, the width of the doorway or the width of the aisles. One post does establish that the shop is at street level, which helps, but ground floor and step-free are not the same thing — a single lip in front of a glass shopfront door is common. What we know of the inside is that there are plenty of tables and that it is, as one writer puts it, fairly roomy for a neighbourhood chicken shop, roomy enough to book for an office party. Roomy is not the same as accessible. Bear in mind too that the toilet is the building's rather than the shop's, and nobody describes the way to it.

The toilet appears to belong to the building rather than the shop. Only one post points that way: a March 2025 writer, listing the practicalities, notes the local payment card and then "the building's inside toilet." For a unit in a ground-floor parade that most likely means a shared toilet off the corridor — but that phrase is the only evidence there is, and we have had to read meaning into it. Whether it is separated by sex, how far it is from the table, whether it needs a key or a code, nobody says. The other four posts do not mention a toilet at all. Better not to arrive assuming there is one inside the room.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Twenty of the twenty-five posts have been taken out, which leaves five posts by five people. The name belongs to a chain with hundreds of outlets, and four posts in five turned out to be about a different one, or about something else entirely. By group: twelve are about the SSG Landers Field stadium — match reports, a concert write-up, a festival guide — where the Jadam Chicken in question is the concession stand inside the ground, selling cups of chicken and a ₩16,000 tub of chicken and popcorn. One uses the brand only as a landmark for finding a wristband desk. Four are other branches or the company itself: one across town with different opening hours, one opposite a hotel, the head-office blog announcing new franchises, and a round-up of 154 newly licensed premises in which the Jadam outlets listed are in two other districts. Four came in on a place name rather than a trade name — a buffet, two sushi restaurants and a stir-fry place that share the station or the hospital in their branch names, and not one of the four contains the word Jadam at all. The five that remain all give both the address and the branch name, and four carry this shop's own check-in.
  • Not one post records queueing. None of the five waited, and none turned back for want of a table. The nearest we get is two things. The writer collecting a takeaway on Christmas Eve ordered three hours ahead in case the kitchen was backed up, and reports it was the right call — the room and the order book were both heaving — but she was not there; that is her husband's account. Another notes that it always looks busy when she walks past, which is a view from outside. The writer who went on a weekday evening in November 2024 says that by the time they finished, every table but one had emptied. A weekday evening looks unlikely to involve waiting, and a date like Christmas is worth ordering ahead for: that is as far as five posts take us. Whether they take bookings, nobody says.
  • Not one post records eating here alone, and only one says who the writer came with. That one is the November 2024 couple who had the fried chicken and the whelk-and-noodle salad. A February 2026 post does mention a friend, but that sentence sits in the machine-written half and we have not counted it. The regular who comes every couple of months never says who with, though his notes on quantity — right for two big eaters, or three ordinary ones — suggest he is not on his own. Whether you can eat here by yourself, we do not know: this is a shop where you order a whole chicken, and the cheapest one we have a price for is ₩23,000, so it would have been useful if somebody had written down how a solo diner manages. One writer, watching the other tables, saw mostly groups and families; another recommends it for an office party. Two people separately vouch for it as a place to come in a group, and nobody has come alone.
  • Five people is about a fifth of what we usually have. It is worth saying what that means. This is a new shop — licensed in July 2024, with our oldest post dating from that November — so the writing is still accumulating. Which is why the following are simply absent: nobody queued, nobody drove, nobody used the toilet, nobody ate alone, nobody brought a child. Nobody counted the seats. Four of the five ate in and one took away; and since one of the five is machine-written, which meant discounting everything it says about taste, the number of people who actually report what they saw is nearer three. A small number is not a verdict on the shop — because the name belongs to a chain, twelve stadium-concession posts and four other-branch posts were sitting in the denominator, and this is what is left once they are removed. No post declares a sponsorship; two declare that they paid, one of them with a verified receipt.
