원조엄마손충무김밥 Wonjo means 'the original' and eomma-son 'mother's hand'; Chungmu gimbap is the bare rice-in-laver roll named after Chungmu, Tongyeong's old name.

A Chungmu gimbap shop on Tongyeong's gimbap row at Gangguan harbour, right across from the moored replica warships. There are only two things on the menu: the plain rolls with radish kimchi, squid-and-fish-cake relish and siraegi soup, and the same set with a horaegi (small squid) relish added. The horaegi set is 9,000 won; the plain set was 7,000 won through July 2026 and 7,500 won in posts from August. You can eat in, but several posts say most customers take it away, and takeaway starts at two portions. We read 28 posts from May 2025 to October 2026; 22 describe actually going.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Ten posts took the food away — onto a ferry, to an island, into the car, even home to Daegu. Seven note the two-portion minimum; since one couple ordered one plain and two horaegi portions to eat in, the rule applies to takeaway. Soup must be requested; skewers and paper cups come in the bag. One post disliked that the relish bag was packed directly on top of the radish kimchi and said they would try another shop next time.
- Four posts call the room spacious. One counted about six four-person tables; another described wall banquettes, standing tables, sofa seats by the window and wide aisles. One post saw stairs to a second-floor hall with tables. Two mention sunlight through the windows.
- Two posts say the food came fast — about two or three minutes after ordering. Others describe staff rolling gimbap nonstop and takeaway packs stacked high.
- One post found it quiet at 8 a.m., another nearly empty at 2:40 p.m. One August 2026 lunch post says it was busy but turned over quickly and they got in soon. No post describes a long wait.

- Opinions on heat split. Three posts found it spicy — one self-described spice wimp, one warning those who avoid heat. One said the seasoning is not spicy at all. A parent with a primary-school child found the radish kimchi fine for kids and the relish a little hotter.
- Two posts saw the signed photos and TV stills from the show 2 Days & 1 Night on the wall. Nearly every post repeats that comedian Heo Kyung-hwan brought TV crews here, but that is relayed from broadcasts and we did not count it.

One post says the shop is on the ground floor and one saw a second-floor hall; no one else mentions floors.
Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance, wheelchair or stroller access, or any way up to the second floor other than stairs. That means we don't know, not that it is absent.
No post says whether there is a restroom inside or whether it is separated by gender.

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 6 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Price: the plain set is 7,000 won in posts through July 2026 and 7,500 won in five posts from August, though three from the same weeks still say 7,000, so we can't pin the date. One September visitor paid 15,000 won for two. The horaegi set stayed at 9,000 won. One post found it easy on the wallet; another sighed that nothing is cheap these days.
- Hours: ten posts give 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., mostly copied from listing blocks. A May 2025 post and one from August 2026 (based on a search) say open 24 hours, which doesn't match. One visitor found it open at 8 a.m. Check before going very early or late.
- Many posts list the phone number 055-641-9144, but one says a phone-ahead takeaway order was refused — you have to order in person. No post mentions table reservations.
- No post describes arriving by bus or other public transport; visitors walked from nearby lodgings or the dachi bars, or drove.
