A seafood set-course restaurant on the ground floor of 29 Haesongjeong 2-gil in Tongyeong; the abalone place upstairs, Dongpirang Jeonbok Maeul, is a separate restaurant run by the same family. Sets are priced per person and built around oysters in winter and abalone in spring and summer: on the October 2026 menu, A 35,000, B 30,000 and C 25,000 won, for two or more. Raw, fried and pancake dishes come in sequence, ending with abalone (or oyster) pot rice or sea-squirt bibimbap alongside seafood doenjang stew. We read 30 posts from 2 February to 26 October 2026; 14 were about the upstairs restaurant or another place and were set aside, and 10 describe actually eating here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Waits are shorter than upstairs. Of eight posts that mentioned waiting, five had a queue: one counted about 20 minutes for ten parties, another found 50 parties upstairs and 5 downstairs at 1 p.m. on a weekend. One visitor, third in line, still waited an hour because of the 15:30–16:30 break. Two walked straight in, right after the break and on an off-season weekday evening. The two floors have separate Tabling kiosks, and one visitor queued at the wrong one.
  2. Three posts described a large, roomy dining room. A group that booked ahead said food arrived as soon as they sat down; another noted sofa seating by the windows and a heated waiting area in winter.
  3. Opinions on the food split: two posts found it unremarkable (one got cold, slightly fishy grilled fish), while another said the 35,000-won A set was well worth it.
  4. Of the ten visits, three were couples, two were families with parents or a child, and one was a tour group. A family with a child said the abalone was tender enough for the kid; another warned the seafood pancakes are mildly spicy.

Parking

4 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park4 of 10 posts

There is a lot in front, shared with the upstairs restaurant. Four posts parked there; two only said parking was a struggle. One saw a sign warning the lot is small; another found it full, used the public lot nearby and got a parking ticket at the till on request.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 2 (of 10 posts read)

Two posts confirm the restaurant is on the ground floor.

Nobody mentioned a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — unknown, not absent. One post noted the entrance is tucked inside the building and easy to miss.

No post described the toilets from experience; one listed separate men's and women's toilets in a checklist, which we did not count.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 16 posts we gathered, 6 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No visit post described arriving by bus; list posts suggest walking from the Jungang Market stops, but that is copied guidance.
  • Six posts give opening hours of 09:30–21:00; five give a 15:30–16:30 break, two of them saying weekends are 16:00–17:00 instead; three give last orders at 19:40. All are copied from info blocks, and one post said a weekday break ran until 5 p.m. The 09:00–21:00, no-break hours in other posts belong to the upstairs restaurant.
  • Prices come from August and October 2026 posts. The two February oyster-season posts gave none, and the lower A/B/C figures in a list post are copied from old sources, so we did not treat them as current. Sets are priced per person with a two-person minimum.
  • One February visitor found a notice that raw oysters were being served cooked because of norovirus; another post from early February ate them raw. Whether raw oysters are served depends on the moment.
  • Two posts give the phone number 0507-1325-4446; a Google listing shows 055-644-4446. One tour group booked ahead; others used Tabling's remote queue rather than reservations.
