The Gardener
더가드너 Deo Gadeuneo The Gardener is simply the English word for someone who tends a garden — the café sits inside a planted garden with outdoor tables and a treehouse cabin.

The Gardener is a brunch café on Gyeongsu-daero 106 in Uiwang, right on the main road between Uiwang IC and north Suwon. Behind the hall are a garden with outdoor tables and a treehouse cabin; in winter the garden and cabin are dressed with Christmas trees, and that is when most posts appear. The current menu has americano at 5,300 won, the signature Garden Latte and Cream Latte at 6,800 won, panini at 14,900 won and the Garden Platter at 17,900 won. Nine posts say brunch is only served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. We read 30 posts dated January 14, 2025 to October 20, 2026; 29 of them describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The treehouse cabin can be booked for private use with your drinks. Three posts booked it and spent time inside: a February 2025 weekday 7:30 p.m. slot with a heated floor that got almost too hot; a June 2025 visit with two children, where two adults and two kids filled it and there was air conditioning; and a January 2026 visit with friends that felt full at four people. The rule that weekday mornings, weekends and holidays are open photo-spot time without bookings is copied from the café's notice, and one post says booking was open on a holiday anyway. Two posts warn the cabin stairs are steep.
- Twenty-three posts describe the outdoor garden seating: tables, an A-frame tent nook, string lights, a full-length mirror and a sandpit. Two late-summer posts mention mosquitoes, one giving up on eating outside because of them, and winter posts say it was too cold to sit out for long.
- The café keeps dogs. Four posts saw them: two white dogs in a kennel below the terrace by the parking lot, with a beware-of-dog sign.
- Brunch can be slow. Two posts say so: one arrived at 11:35 on a weekday and got food around 12:05, apparently with one staff member cooking (August 2026); another, on a busy weekend morning, got drinks first while food was backed up (December 2025).

- Fifteen posts call the hall spacious: a long rectangular room with eight-seat group tables, sofas and single seats, well spaced. One post disagreed, saying it is not that big.

Parking

Of 29 visit posts, 23 parked or described the lots. There is a first lot in front of the entrance and a second lot behind or beside the building; the five posts that gave a size put them at about 12 and about 18 cars. Still, one post found the front lot full around 1 p.m. on a Sunday and used the second lot, and another found it nearly full on a weekend morning.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Ramp at the door | 1 of 29 posts |
|---|---|
| Step-free access | 1 of 29 posts |
| Toilet inside | 5 of 29 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 2 of 29 posts |
No post says what floor the hall is on; two only mention a greenhouse or group space down a flight of steps from the garden. We don't know.
One post saw a wheelchair ramp at the entrance. Other mentions of wheelchair access are copied from the café's listing and not counted. No one wrote about a step at the door or moving through the hall with a wheelchair or stroller; that means nobody reported it, not that there is a problem.
The restrooms are inside the café. Five posts say so; two add that they are separate for men and women, one noting bidets.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Step at the entrance · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- One post waited for a table, on Christmas Day. One weekday-evening post had almost no wait; one weekday visitor advised expecting a wait on weekends. No post gives weekend wait times in minutes, so we don't know.
- Most say public transport is hard. Three posts say you need a car; two are inconclusive (no subway nearby but a bus stop two minutes' walk away; another simply says transit is possible). One post mentions a companion leaving by a Seoul-bound bus from Uiwang tollgate.
- Many posts repeat that dogs are allowed on the terrace only, but all copy the café's notice; no post clearly says the writer brought a dog.
- Opinions on the food split. Three posts called it ordinary (the sandwiches and ciabatta, and in one case the drinks and interior), though more posts liked the same dishes.
- Prices have gone up. Early-2025 posts list americano at 4,900 won and iced latte at 5,500; from November 2025 it is 5,300 and 5,800. The Garden Latte went from 6,500 won (June 2025) to 6,800 (September 2026). On value, two posts found the platter and baked goods fairly priced, and two found coffee or panini a bit expensive but acceptable.
- Opening hours changed. Thirteen 2025 posts list 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily; five posts from September 2026 list 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., last order 9:40 p.m. All are copied from the listing. One January 2026 post lists 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., but the same block has the wrong address, so we set it aside.
- Six posts give the same phone number, 0507-1339-9300. The hall is walk-in; several posts say cabin bookings go through Naver. No post booked by phone.
- Two September 2026 posts share the same menu list and nearly identical tasting notes on the Cream Latte; one appears copied from the other, so we treat that tasting note as a single voice.
