Slow Sunnyside

슬로우써니사이드 Seullou Sseonisaideu The name is English — a slow, sunny side; two posts note that the house cat whose little house sits by the door is called Sunny.

Compiled from 24 blog posts read in fullSources →

A brunch-style Western kitchen in a converted two-storey house off Sinpung-ro 45beon-gil in Suwon's Haenggung-dong. Risotto, pasta, gnocchi, sandwiches and French toast run 14,000–21,000 won a plate. You order and pay up front via the QR/NFC tag on your table; food is cooked in the ground-floor kitchen and carried up, and water and cutlery come from a self-serve bar. The most-ordered dishes were the pollock-roe oil pasta (10 posts) and the miso steak risotto (8). We read 30 posts dated 17 December 2025 to 15 October 2026; 27 describe a visit, one was another business's list and was dropped, and two were info round-ups we did not count.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Ordering happens on your phone at the table: sixteen posts ordered and paid by the table's QR code or NFC tag, so you just leave when done. One post waited a long time before realising the order had not gone through, and advises checking it registered.
  2. Weekends can mean a wait. Four posts waited: 15–20 minutes at 11:30 on a Saturday, about 10 minutes on a weekend, two parties ahead, and first in line for a four-top around 2 pm. Six walked straight in, on weekdays or just after opening, plus one at a weekend lunch peak. You register on a machine at the door and, once called by KakaoTalk, have five minutes to come in. Three posts mention waiting chairs outside; one found them too wet to sit on.
  3. Five posts saw high chairs, one on each floor according to one of them; the same post notes there is no child tableware.

Parking

6 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot6 of 24 posts

There is no parking of its own. Six posts drove and used public lots or the street, and six say there is no lot. One spent an hour finding a space at the Paldal-gu office lot; another failed to get into the Sinpung-dong public lot nearly ten times running. One found the public lots easy.

Getting inside

Second floor18 of 24 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 2 (of 24 posts read)
Toilet inside2 of 24 posts

Most seats are upstairs: eighteen posts mention the second floor. Three describe the ground floor as a counter, kitchen and about two tables. Upstairs is split into nooks: four posts mention a small private room and seven a window seat or good daylight. Eight posts mention an outdoor table just outside the upstairs door, which one describes as a single four-seater.

Nobody wrote about a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller, so we don't know. Four posts do say the stairs to the second floor are steep cement steps, and the ground floor has only about two tables.

Two posts say the toilet is inside on the ground floor, one calling it very clean. Nobody said whether it is split by gender or whether there is one upstairs.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No one described getting there by subway or bus; one post took a ten-minute taxi from Suwon Station.
  • Noise is split three to one: three posts found it quiet, one said the raw cement walls make sound echo painfully. The same post noted chipped and scratched enamel side plates.
  • The truffle potato risotto and beef chili pasta carry jalapeño or chili heat. One post called it really hot, one said not very hot, and four said mildly spicy.
  • Price opinion splits one to one: a group of four paid about 85,000 won for five plates plus drinks and called brunch pricey; another found it reasonable for a Western restaurant. Plates ran 14,000–21,000 won.
  • Sixteen posts give the same hours — 10:30 to 19:30, last order 18:20, closed Tuesdays — but all copied from the Naver listing. None reported finding it closed; one arrived at 10:50 and says it is full by 11:30.
  • Seven posts list the phone number 0507-1397-2338. Several copy the rule that Naver and CatchTable bookings are weekdays only, with walk-in queuing on weekends and holidays; two posts actually booked. Groups of four or more are told to call the shop.
  • One post went with a dog: the waitlist asked how many pets, and they were seated at a separate table. Another post's copied notice says dogs are allowed on the terrace only, so we can't say whether indoors is always allowed.
  • The menu changes with the seasons. French toast was pistachio (15,000 won) in December 2025, raspberry butter (15,000 won) in spring 2026 and fig (16,500 won) in September–October; a burger eaten in June 2026 was gone by a September post. Check that a dish is still on before you go.
