Taeyang Gopchang

태양곱창 Taeyang means the sun, and gopchang is pork small intestine, the dish this chain shop is built around.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

Taeyang Gopchang's Okjeong branch is a pork-intestine shop in unit 117 of the Bujaro Tower in Okjeong's central shopping strip, Yangju. Two posts place it on the ground floor, and two describe it as a branch of a chain that began in Bangi-dong, Seoul. The core is stir-fried yachae gopchang (15,000 won a portion) and pork intestine hot pot (35,000 won for a small), with grilled makchang or salt-grilled doraechang on the side, soju, and egg fried rice (4,000 won) to finish. We read 30 posts dated 13 August to 15 October 2026; 28 record an actual meal. Four say they were sponsored or hosted, and the same promotional phrases recur across many of them.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Portion size is the most repeated point: 18 posts call it generous, one does not. One post says a small hot pot would leave leftovers even for three people; a family of four shared a single small, and another couple took the rest home. Only a 24 September post found two portions of the stir-fry a little thin.
  2. You can order single portions. Three posts point out there is no two-portion minimum, so they paired one portion of the stir-fry with one of grilled makchang or doraechang.
  3. Thirteen posts mention outdoor tables in front of the shop. Three count about three outside; inside, two count about eight four-seat tables and one counts six or seven. A 23 August post found the outdoor tables not yet set out in the heat.
  4. Nine posts say ordering is done on a tablet at each table, including extra side dishes and the spice level. Two note there are no lettuce wraps by default, but perilla leaves come on request.
2 more
  1. Even the mild stir-fry reads as spicy: six posts call it hot, five of them about the mild version, and the one who ordered hot found it sharper than expected. The single post calling it not spicy was talking about the hot pot, not the stir-fry.
  2. Three posts say grilled items arrive already cooked from the kitchen, so no grilling or splatter at the table. Each table does have a burner, used for the hot pot and the fried rice.

Parking

4 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park4 of 28 posts

Four posts parked in the building's underground garage, and three of them called it roomy. Whether it's free is unclear: copied info blocks variously say free building parking or a paid lot 20 m away at 4,000 won an hour, and one post was told two hours are covered.

Getting inside

Lift to the floor1 of 28 posts
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 28 posts read)

We don't know whether there's a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in; nobody wrote about it. One post came up from the garage by elevator.

One post says the restroom is outside the shop, to the right, inside the building. Nobody mentions whether it is separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Nineteen posts say the intestine had no off smell. But the line about '100% domestic pork intestine, fresh and chewy with no gaminess' appears word for word across many posts as the shop's own copy, so posts with only that sentence weren't counted. 'Domestic' and 'slaughtered and sold the same day' are likewise the shop's claims; one post says it saw the origin board.
  • Many posts repeat the same promotional lines in the same order: the outdoor-stall vibe, 'lunch, dinner and second rounds', the movie-ticket offer for bills over 70,000 won. Three disclose sponsorship and one a voucher. Two posts from 28 August and 4 September are near-identical and never name a dish, so we did not count them as visits.
  • We don't know how to get there by bus or subway; no post says. 'Five minutes' walk from Okjeong Lake Park' is copied info, and the visitors either drove or didn't say how they came.
  • Only one post addresses waiting: on a 3 September evening they walked straight in and the place filled up right after. Others mention crowds and a steady stream of delivery orders, but nobody reports queuing.
  • Opening hours mostly come from copied info blocks: nearly all say 4 pm to midnight, last order 11:30 pm, closed Tuesdays, with one saying 4:30 pm. The 'good for lunch' line comes from promotional copy, so we don't know whether it opens before 4 pm.
  • One post gives a full bill: 70,700 won for two, covering a small hot pot, doraechang, steamed egg, fried rice, two extra noodles and three bottles of soju. Menu prices don't change across the August-October 2026 posts, and four posts call it good value.
  • The phone number, 0507-1316-6122, is the same in every copied block. Some blocks say bookings go through Naver, for groups of six or more, but no post says they actually booked.
