Sudatteoneun Ojingeo

수다떠는 오징어 Sudatteoneun ojingeo means 'the chatty squid' — a squid that chatters away; the house specializes in live squid and fried squid.

Compiled from 12 blog posts read in fullSources →

A squid and live-fish house on the ground floor of Main Tower in Okjeong's central shopping district, Yangju, with tanks by the door. People come for sets of fried squid with sashimi and seasonal seafood (44,000-53,000 won) or live-fish sets (69,000 won and up), add the 8,000-won fish-frame stew, and drink. We read 17 posts from December 2024 to September 2026; 2 were about other places and were set aside. Of the remaining 15, 13 describe eating in; one delivery post and one take-home post are not counted. Two July 2026 posts priced live squid at 55,000 won for three; a September post said the price had gone up and the menu now reads 'market price'.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. A spread of free side dishes comes with the meal; all 11 posts that described the table mention it. Silkworm pupae come up most often, along with corn cheese, seaweed soup, seaweed salad, aged kimchi and cold bean-sprout soup, varying by post. One post refilled the pupae twice and another refilled the seaweed soup. Two posts said lettuce wraps come only on request because so much went to waste.
  2. Fried squid is the common order. Of 6 posts on texture, 4 called it crisp, and one said the batter never slips off and the squid bites through cleanly. One May 2026 post found the batter thick and greasy.
  3. Of 9 posts on price, 6 said it was good value. The usual example is the 8,000-won fish-frame stew, which one post said held four or five big chunks of fish. One post noted Onnuri gift certificates are accepted.
  4. Three posts said food came quickly despite a full room; one, on a Friday at 8 pm with the place almost full, said the yellowtail arrived fast.

Only one post described parking from experience: the building's basement lot, free for diners if you give your plate number when paying. Other 'building parking' lines were copied listings and are not counted.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 12 posts read)

Only one post mentioned the floor, describing a ground-floor corner unit, which matches the address.

No post said whether the entrance has a step or works for wheelchairs or strollers. We don't know.

No post said where the toilet is; 'separate men's and women's toilets' appears only in one copied listing.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 14 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • One post waited about 30 minutes on a Friday around 7 pm; others only said it was busy. A September 2026 post suggested calling ahead on late Friday or Saturday nights.
  • No post described getting there by subway or bus; they only said it is easy to find in the central shopping district.
  • Three posts went with friends and only one with parents. None clearly went with a child, though one post noted kid-friendly dishes and many families.
  • Six posts gave opening hours as 3 pm to 1 am (last order 12:30 am), five of them copied listings. One delivery post said Sundays close at 11 pm, so Sunday hours are uncertain.
  • Prices are from 2026 posts. Live squid was 55,000 won for three in July 2026 and was listed at market price by September, so the current figure is unknown. No post totalled a full bill.
  • Four posts copied the phone number 070-8887-0816. None described making a reservation; one only phoned ahead to have shrimp set aside.
