Sso Jjukkumi

쏘쭈꾸미 Jjukkumi is webfoot octopus; Sso is the house brand it shares with Sso Gopchang, the beef-tripe place run by the same owner on the ground floor.

Compiled from 21 blog posts read in fullSources →

An octopus pub on the second floor of First Plaza in Okjeong's central shopping strip, Yangju. It shares both floors with Sso Gopchang downstairs, run by the same owner, and writers say you can order octopus on either floor. You simmer pork-belly or prawn octopus on an iron pan and finish with fried rice; two portions cost 32,000 won (16,000 each). We read 30 posts from 23 May to 20 September 2026; nine were about tripe at Sso Gopchang only, so we counted the 21 that ate octopus here.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. A spicy kimchi and fish-cake soup arrives free once you order; eighteen posts describe it or the side dishes, and many started drinking over it before the octopus came. With octopus you also get mayonnaise, seaweed and a small seasoned-rice ball.
  2. Every dish can be ordered as a single portion; thirteen posts note it, often adding that two people can share one portion as a second-round snack. One group ordered single portions of tripe, octopus and chicken to try everything.
  3. Opinions split on heat: twelve posts call it spicy, two say it was not. One ordered the default level and found it not hot at all; another put it just above Shin Ramyun. You can choose the heat on the kiosk and ask for extra hot sauce.
  4. You order on a tablet or kiosk at the table; eight posts mention it.

Posts saying you can park6 of 21 posts

Six posts parked, or say you can park, in the building's underground car park; two say the first two hours are free and you must register your plate. A repeat visitor parks at Okjeong Lake Park instead because the lot fills up.

Getting inside

Second floor5 of 21 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 12 (of 21 posts read)
Lift to the floor1 of 21 posts

It is listed as the upstairs shop, but most people ate downstairs: twelve posts say they sat on the ground floor, five say they went up. One arrived at 6 pm on a weekday to find the second floor not yet open; another was steered downstairs at opening time; a third took the lift up and was sent back down. The ground floor serves the same octopus and side dishes.

No one wrote about steps at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. One post says the second floor is reached by lift from the building's right-hand entrance; 'wheelchair accessible' appears only in copied listing blocks.

None of the posts we counted says whether the toilet is inside the restaurant. That means no one wrote about it, not that there isn't one; gender-separated toilets appear only in copied listing blocks.

No one mentioned: Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Nearly every post repeats the same promotional lines in the same order: home-grown organic vegetables, beef slaughtered the same day, fast stock turnover, room for 30-plus, and a family-friendly second floor. Two posts disclose sponsorship, one was a review-team visit, the rest say nothing. We treat those lines as the shop's own claims and do not count them.
  • No one described getting here by bus or subway; one post says it is about a five-minute walk from Okjeong CGV and the lake park.
  • No one reported actually waiting. One says there is a queue even on weekday evenings when passing by; one saw a notice about waiting outside; one says there are no seats at peak time. Most writers arrived early, around 5-6 pm, and sat straight away.
  • Eight posts say who they came with: four couples, three with family (one with a child), one work dinner. No one came alone.
  • Opening hours differ between posts, all copied from listings. Five give Tue-Thu 16:30-02:00, Fri 16:00-02:00, Sat 15:30-02:30, Sun 15:30-01:30, closed Mondays; three give weekdays 16:00-01:00 with no closing day; one says closed Tuesdays. One writer found the second floor still shut at 6 pm on a weekday, so it seems to open later than the ground floor.
  • Five posts agree on 32,000 won for two portions of octopus (16,000 each). Other prices appear in only one or two posts: cheese fried rice 4,500, seasoned rice or plain rice 2,000, karaage 6,000, soju 5,500, beer 6,000. Two people with octopus, fried rice and a bottle or two would land in the low-to-mid 40,000s, but no one posted a full bill. Many posts mention a buy-two-get-one-free drinks offer.
  • Two phone numbers circulate: several posts give 0507-1432-5311 for this shop, while 0507-1446-7529 belongs to Sso Gopchang downstairs. Reservations appear in copied listing blocks; the only first-hand sign is one writer who saw tables being set for a group booking.
