Sodamchon Okjeong Sindosi-jeom

소담촌 옥정신도시점 Sodam suggests something neat and plentiful and chon means village; one post reads the name as a place for easy talk with people dear to you.

Compiled from 20 blog posts read in fullSources →

A chain shabu-shabu and rice-paper-wrap restaurant on the 6th floor of Jeil Tower in Okjeong's central shopping district, Yangju. You order meat and a split broth, fetch vegetables, wrap fillings, fish cakes and noodles from a self-bar, finish with porridge, and after paying help yourself to free coffee and ice cream in the in-house cafe. It reopened after a renovation on 1 October 2026, with a buy-two-get-one offer. Prices rose from 14,900 won (weekday lunch) and 16,900 won (dinner) in 2025 to 15,900 and 18,900 won in 2026. We read 30 posts from November 2024 to October 2026, set aside 5 about other businesses, and counted 20 that describe a visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Eleven visit posts had coffee or ice cream in the in-house cafe after the meal. Several note you must pay first before going in; ice cream comes in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and cookies-and-cream. One post called the coffee merely so-so.
  2. Seven visit posts saw the kids' cinema room showing cartoons, and six mention baby chairs. One July 2025 post found the kids' zone closed for works; posts from November onward saw it again. A January 2025 post notes claw machines at the cafe entrance.
  3. Thirteen visit posts call the room spacious. Posts mention six-seat window booths and partitioned tables; four describe the window view. Two saw floor seating, one was unsure. Nine say you order from a tablet at the table.
  4. Five visit posts came with family, three with friends, two as a couple, one alone and one with coworkers. Seven say they are repeat visitors.

Parking

6 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park6 of 20 posts

Six visit posts parked in the building's basement garage, most noting two free hours if you give your plate number at checkout. Two say it is often full at lunch and dinner because it is shared with academies and a gym, with overflow at Dream Tower 2. One May 2025 visitor used a temporary lot nearby.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Lift to the floor3 of 20 posts

It is on the 6th floor of Jeil Tower; three posts say the entrance is right off the elevator. No post mentions a basement or other floor.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. We know only that you arrive by elevator; we do not know about the aisles inside.

No post describes the toilets from experience. The 'separate men's and women's toilets' line is copied from the listing, so we did not count it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices went up between late 2025 and early 2026: posts from January to November 2025 give 14,900 won for the weekday lunch set and 16,900 won at dinner, while posts from January to March 2026 give 15,900 and 18,900 won. Mushroom shabu went from 21,900 to 23,900 won, the special from 26,000 to 28,000. No post yet gives post-renovation prices. Six posts call it good value.
  • Time limits are unclear: a November 2025 post says there is none, while a January 2026 post was told meals are unlimited for two hours with a charge after that. We did not count the hearsay.
  • Only one post mentions waiting: on a Saturday in February 2025 at 5:30 pm the room was nearly full and a crowd was waiting by the time they left. Posts arriving at 11:30 on a weekday or 2 or 4 pm at weekends were seated straight away. No post describes a waiting area.
  • No post arrived by bus or train; one couple walked about 20 minutes from home.
  • One April 2026 diary entry turned away because it was too hot inside, saying this happens every time. That was before the renovation; no later post mentions the air-conditioning.
  • Eleven posts give daily hours of 11:00 to 21:30, mostly copied from the listing. Last order is 20:30 in pre-renovation posts but 20:00 in the one post from reopening day.
  • Six posts give the phone number 0507-1447-1012 and two give 031-863-1002. Posts say you can book through Naver, and four used a free extra-meat coupon. Remarks such as 'good seats need a booking' are hearsay and not counted.
  • The five posts we set aside are about a tanning salon in the same building, a used-phone shop nearby, the Pocheon branch, and other restaurants; this place appears only as a link or a single line. Two generic write-ups, two new-opening lists and one roundup were not counted as visits.
