Rahongbang Maratang

라홍방마라탕 Maratang is the Sichuan-style numbing, spicy soup; none of the posts explain what 'Rahongbang' means.

Compiled from 9 blog posts read in fullSources →

Rahongbang Maratang is a maratang shop in unit 110 of Polytower, in the Okjeong central shopping district of Yangju. You fill a basket with ingredients, have it weighed, pick soup or stir-fry and a heat level, and pay up front. Guobaorou, lemon cream shrimp, chili shrimp and egg fried rice (6,000 won in a March 2026 post) are also on offer. Nine of the ten visit posts mention free self-serve soft ice cream after the meal. We read 15 posts from March 2025 to October 2026: 10 visits, 3 about this shop without a visit (a delivery order, an ice-cream-machine supplier, a one-line diary mention), and 2 about other shops.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. It is a small room. Three posts said so outright, and a fourth called it neither big nor cramped. One post described the seating as two-person and four-person tables.
  2. One post mentions waiting: an August 2025 visitor said there is often a line at dinner but it moves fast. Three more posts describe a full room without saying they waited. Two posts said the food came out quickly.
  3. Three posts went with children. One, with a nine-year-old, ordered the non-spicy white broth and noted there were far more kids than adults; another post saw the shop busy with students after school.
  4. Four posts are repeat visits, including a regular whose order the owner now knows by heart (level 4).

These are raw counts, not percentages. Someone who did not mention something is not someone who disagreed.

The most ordered dish is maratang (마라탕) — 10 of 9 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 9 posts

Only one post actually parked: the building's lot was roomy but had no marked bays, and the shop validated two free hours. Six other posts say parking is in the building or its basement, but those are copied listing details and we don't count them.

Where it is

Map showing where Rahongbang Maratang is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post says from experience which floor the shop is on or whether there are stairs; the one '1st floor' mention is a copied address. We don't know.

Nobody mentions a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. We don't know.

No post describes the restroom from experience; one copied listing says the building's restroom can be used. We don't know if there's one inside.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 12 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post explains how to get there by subway or bus; one local walked and one drove. We don't know.
  • All eight posts that list hours give 11:00-22:00 (six say daily), but every one is copied from a listing. No one mentions a break, last order or closing day. Six posts give the phone number 031-928-7361; reservations appear only in copied listings.
  • Maratang is sold by weight, but no post gives the per-100g price. The only bowl totals are about 9,000 and 13,000 won from a February 2026 post; no one priced the guobaorou or shrimp dishes. The note that government consumer coupons are accepted is the shop's own sign, copied.
  • Two posts have other motives: one is by a nearby dog groomer promoting her own shop alongside this one (counted, since it describes a real visit), and one is an ice-cream-machine supplier's installation write-up (not counted).
