Pyeonpyeonjip Yangju Okjeong-jeom

편편집 양주옥정점 Jip means 'house'; the posts never explain 'pyeonpyeon', though the chain's signature dish is meat and vegetables steamed in a pyeonbaek (hinoki cypress) basket.

Compiled from 22 blog posts read in fullSources →

Pyeonpyeonjip's Okjeong branch is an all-you-can-eat house on the second floor (unit 204) of Handeok Tower in Okjeong's central shopping district in Yangju. You start with a hinoki-cypress steamer basket of beef and vegetables, and staff lift the lid when the timer goes off. Then comes a split pot of two broths for shabu-shabu and rice-paper wraps, finished with noodles and porridge. The listed adult price is 17,900 won for weekday lunch and 20,900 won for dinner, weekends and holidays; three posts paid a discounted 15,900 won at weekday lunch. We read 30 posts dated 27 January to 3 October 2026. Of those, 23 are about this place and every one is a real visit. Six of the remaining seven were about Pyeonbaek Hoegwan, a different restaurant right next door in unit 203, and we set them aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The playroom is what most people write about: 19 of the 23 posts saw it or let their children use it. Three mention a CCTV feed or monitor TV so parents can watch from the table, and one says you can see in through a glass wall. Posts mention a jungle gym, slide and zip line, plus a 2,000-won claw machine. One diner who knew the place next door judged this playroom a little larger.
  2. Fourteen posts say the dining room is spacious. Some note that the tables are spread out enough to reach the self-serve bar without bumping into anyone, and that there are tables for four, six and eight. Four mention big windows or the view outside; one notes the high ceiling.
  3. Three posts say you get two hours at the table. Several explain that the steamed basket's meat is refilled once, after which you add ingredients from the bar and steam them yourself.

Parking

9 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park9 of 22 posts

Parking is in the building's basement garage. Nine posts parked there, and five of them call it roomy. Three say the first two hours are free and two say each extra hour costs 500 won. One reminds readers to pay the parking fee before leaving.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 5 (of 22 posts read)
Lift to the floor3 of 22 posts

Three posts say the restaurant is right outside the elevator on the second floor, on the left, next to Pyeonbaek Hoegwan. Five describe going up to the second floor rather than down to a basement.

No one wrote from experience about a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. The line 'entrance wheelchair accessible' is listing data copied into one post. All we know is that there is an elevator. That doesn't mean access is poor, only that nobody described it.

Nobody says where the toilets are or what they are like. Three posts copy listing data saying they are separate for men and women; we did not count that.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Next door on the same floor is Pyeonbaek Hoegwan (unit 203), a different restaurant serving the same steamed-basket and shabu-shabu buffet. One blogger admitted mixing the two up, and one Pyeonbaek Hoegwan review was tagged with this restaurant's check-in. We sorted these by name, unit number and price and left them out.
  • Twelve posts from 29 April to 19 May 2026 repeat the same lines: the playroom is bigger than other restaurants', dogs are allowed with a reservation under a city permit, and there are discounts for soldiers, civil servants, police, firefighters and school staff. Only one says it was a sponsored visit; the rest say nothing. We treated these restaurant talking points, including the dog policy, the discounts and a celebrity-visit claim, as copied text and did not count them.
  • Many posts repeat the pet rules (phone booking required, dog in a carrier or stroller), but no one actually brought a dog. We don't know what the pet seating is like.
  • No one came by train or bus. One post copies 'Line 1, Deokgye or Yangju station' as location info, but nobody says how far the walk is. Five posts say they drove.
  • No post describes queuing. One found it quiet on an early weekday evening and another visited around 3 p.m. with the room to themselves. Nobody tells us whether there is a wait on weekend evenings.
  • Thirteen posts give the same opening hours, 10:30 to 22:30, all copied from listing info. Ten say the weekly day off is Tuesday and two (both 6 May 2026) say Wednesday. One notes that Tuesday took effect in April, so we read it as a change from Wednesday. Last orders are unknown; one post only guesses 21:00.
  • Prices shift with promotions. The list price is 17,900 won for weekday lunch and 20,900 won otherwise, but in April and May 2026 weekday lunch was discounted to 15,900 won, and one post gives 16,900 won. Free-child and free-drinks-for-a-review terms are copied from the restaurant's notices. No post after May gives a price, so we don't know what a meal costs now.
  • One post says they booked ahead. Many posts give the same phone number, 0507-1483-0658. Nobody describes how group or pet reservations actually work.
