Hodune Boribap
호두네 보리밥 Hodu means walnut and boribap is barley rice; two posts say Hodu is the name of the owner's dog, a bichon.

Hodune Boribap is a barley-rice restaurant at unit 117 of the Sinunjeong Teunteun Plaza in Okjeong's central shopping district, Yangju, opened in spring 2026. The main dish is the seasonal barley-rice set (11,000 won): five or more seasonal namul, radish salad, young-radish kimchi, doenjang and stew, with spicy pork or a fried egg, and white rice if you prefer. Fire-cooked octopus and spicy pork come as 10,000-won side plates. You order from a kiosk at the table; the shop has two floors, and diners with dogs eat upstairs. We read 30 posts dated May 1 to October 20, 2026. Fifteen were about this restaurant and 14 of those describe an actual meal; the other 15 were about other businesses in the same building or nearby.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Dogs are welcome. Five posts brought a dog or saw dogs dining. Dog owners are sent upstairs, and the posted rules allow vaccinated dogs up to 10 kg. Three posts say staff brought a dog chair and treats, and there are leash hooks on the wall.
- Portions are large; ten posts say so. One mother said there was too much rice the moment it arrived, two friends left some behind, and one post said the 'mini' barley rice with the noodles was not mini at all.
- The seasoning is gentle. Eight posts call it not salty or not harsh, none call it salty, and the doenjang sauce and namul are repeatedly described as mild.
- The shop is small: three posts call it cosy or not very big, none call it roomy. Seven posts describe it as clean.
4 more
- No post calls it expensive, and seven say the price is fair for what you get. The 11,000-won set and the 10,000-won side plates were priced the same in May and on the September menu. One post says a pregnant diner's meal was taken off the bill.
- Five posts ordered on the kiosk or tablet at each table; one adds that water is self-serve from the fridge.
- One post waited: in May it gave up on a weekday lunch queue and came back on a Saturday. A September post was the first customer at about 11 a.m. on a Saturday. No post gives a waiting time.
- Five posts went with parents or family, two with friends and one with a husband.

Parking

Two posts actually used the building's underground car park; one found it roomy but warns to check the Sinunjeong Teunteun Plaza sign so you don't enter the neighbouring building's garage. Seven more simply copied 'parking available'. Nobody says whether it is free.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Second floor | 9 of 14 posts |
|---|---|
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 6 (of 14 posts read) |
There is a second floor; nine posts mention eating or looking around on both levels. The ground floor holds about four tables, one two-seater and several four-seaters, and one post noted you may be sent upstairs when it fills. The upper floor doubles as the dog-friendly room.
Nobody says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller fits; this is unknown, not a no. One post climbed stairs to the second floor.
Nobody says whether the toilet is inside the shop or separated by gender; one post only notes that the toilet password is shown on the table kiosk.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 15 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post describes getting there by subway or bus; they only say it sits on a corner of the Okjeong central shopping district and is easy to find.
- Nine posts give the same hours, 10:00–21:00 daily with a 16:00–17:00 break, and six add that it closes on the first and third Sunday of each month. All of these were copied from the listing. Last order is given as 20:00 by three posts and 20:20 by one. One post found it open at about 10:40 a.m.
- The clam noodles come and go. A May post ate them for 10,000 won; in June one post was told they were seasonal and off the menu, and another found them sold out, while summer posts mention cold soy-milk noodles instead. An October post ate the clam noodles as a 'new' dish. Check what is on before you go.
- Four posts list the same phone number, 0507-1337-1712. Nobody says whether reservations are taken; one post phoned ahead to confirm dogs were allowed.
